Mets did a great job in coming from behind on Wednesday night against Atlanta. Wagner made it interesting by loading the bases in the ninth, but he got the ground balls when it counted most.

Watching today's game right now and I'm excited about the 2-0 lead. But I have to ask: Does John Maine not know how to bunt? What the hell does a hitting instructor do if he can't at least coach his hitters how to lay down a sacrifice bunt?

Also, why does Willie have Marlon Anderson in CF? He's already made two questionable nonplays. Is Lastings so tired from playing two nights in a row?

Maine's in trouble in the fourth...

Bobby Cox blew the game last night taking Smoltz out... must've been a really exciting game for you Mets fans, however a heartbreaked for us Braves who snatched defeat out of the claws of victory.

I mean Smoltz had 0 earned runs when he got taken out?!?!?!? and America knows how bad our relief is, oh well. You guys played a great game so congrats.

I'm just ticked as a Smoltz fan at Bobby Cox

Funny. I just saw the score of todays game... just after I bash our relief pitching, I stare at the runs in the bottom of the 9th today. Glad to chalk up the victory, but still... our relief pitching is sooooo bad.

Damn I hate the fucking Braves!! Hopefully they'll get fucked up by the Phills..what are we, 3 and 1/2 over both these fuckers now? Anything less than the world series would be a disappointment this year, but it doesn't fucking look good...you can't trust Perez, Maine and/or even Glavine these days...the pen looks pretty shitty too..hope Pedro helps..

I think we are probably going to. The Mets have always done well against Florida in recent years.
    Marlins, Pirates, Nationals...next three series!
Eww Wee....Time to widen the lead baby!!!

I guess you forget that the Mets went 4-3 against the Pirates and Nats just a couple of weeks ago. No reason in the world they shouldn't have been 6-1, but they just aren't dominant.

Good enough to win the division, but not dominant. Pedro won't help that, either.

I'm still mad at that sonofabitch Larry. 470 foot HR blasting fuckhead.

Is it just me, or is Billy Wagner starting down the same road as his infamous predecessors Armando Benitez and Braden Looper?

Cordero looks better and better the further away we get from the recent trading deadline.

Should've had that sweep in Pittsburgh. Instead, the Pirates bust out 10 runs and allow the second place team to pick up a game.

What's with this cat Lawrence? Is he the fifth starter while Sosa's in the 'pen and we're waiting for September call-ups (and hopefully a healthy Pedro)? I can see why they don't want to promote Pelfrey anymore, but are the rest of the arms so tired that they can't use a 4-man rotation for a couple of weeks?

Please just take the series from the Nationals this weekend. The division race looks like its headed down to the wire.

Mets were 6-3 in those nine games, including a 5-1 week against Pittsburgh and Washington.

Division lead is back up to five over Philly and 5 1/2 over Atlanta. Turned out to be a good week after all. Now let's see if they can handle some better squads like San Diego and Los Angeles at home.

September call-ups are just around the corner, and I think that means Pedro and Endy will be back with the club. Hope they've got a few more catchers they can promote...

    Let's Go Mets.

I don't know confident I feel about these next series. I mean, its great that we swept that Nats, it was really important, and that we also took 3-4 from the Pads last series, but we just kind of suck at home.
