LMFAO, funny but true, yankees fans are the worst crowd i've ever been to. i went to a m's/yanks game back when griffey jr was still on the m's and i wore my griffey jr jersey and the amount of shit i got from fans was really bad, i was 12. my uncle jack whos been a die hard yankee fan forever said he was sadden by how yankee fans were to me

Yea. As bad as Yankee fans are sometimes, I personally believe the worst are Red Sox fans. When the Sox made the ALCS a couple of years ago, before they even knew what team they'd face, there was a whole giant gathering in Boston somewhere, and instead of chanting 'Boston rules' or something, they started chanting "Yankees suck". They didn't even know if they were playing them or not yet cause the Yankees hadn't made it yet! I also heard 2 cars were burned that year on UMASS campus.

Don't know how I feel about this Castillo signing..Yes, in a big spot you'd rather him than Gotay, but fuck..let the kid play..Why sign another aging starter, though he's 31, you know what i'm saying? Gotay has 4 home runs compared to 0 for Castillo..about the same RBI with considerably less games played....Fucking Green, Alou, Valentin, Glavine, Pedro, Hernandez, Delgado, Franko..Willie needs to get away from his 'play the veterans till they drop dead' mentality...I'm getting sick of it...I don't know....I don't know...Now Beltran is on the DL too??
'I want to hurry home to you
put on a slow, dumb show for you
    and crack you up
so you can put a blue ribbon on my brain
    god I'm very, very frightening
    and I'll overdo it'
  • I think there will be plenty of bullpen help available in August, but it will be high priced, clear waivers type guys from teams that are in it today, but fall out of it in a few weeks. And, if you think Yankee Stadium is bad, you haven't been there in a while. They've cleaned it up, bringing in NYPD as security. A simple "Hey JD Drew, you suck" will get you quickly tossed especially in the bleachers. That said, even at 12, what do you think is gonna happen when you show up at Yankee Stadium in a griffey jersey? How do you think a person in a Chipper Jones jersey will be treated at Shea?

I've been cursed at and ridiculed in Turner Field when I go to see the Mets play. It's the closest NL park to my home, so it's the easiest place to watch them play. I think it's only natural for the home fans to get on the visitor's fans. Being rude to children is taking it too far, I think.

Tommy's in line for the W tonight. Bottom 8, Mets lead 2-1. They have one out, one on, Fielder coming to the plate, and Feliciano relieving Heilman.

All told, I don't think missing on Cordero at the deadline is going to crush the Mets' playoff chances. Would've been nice, but 'in Omar we trust'.

    Get five more outs!

The bullpen blows the lead Tom handed them. Willie Randolph and his match-ups...

Oh well, they can still win the game with some hits in the 9th.

Mota crashed the server over @ Metsgeek.com.

They're hating him big-time over there right now. Pretty funny game threads, if you've never followed one.

Anybody think this means some waiver wire reliever may be in the Mets' future?

Alou GIDP after Brewers pitchers throw 10 straight balls.

WTF? Can't he lay down a damn bunt?

Easley strikes out, stranding Wright @ 3rd.

What's with the offense tonight? Way too many runners LOB (Castillo=4 by himself).

Now to the top of the 11th...

    Not Pedro. Not yet.

I think Dave Williams or Mike Pelfrey will get called-up and start on Thursday in Milwaukee.

Glavs gets to go again on Sunday night @ Wrigley on a national broadcast. Can't wait to watch that one!

Back to tonight, bad bullpen and lack of timely hits gets you into extra innings against a slumping team. Maybe they can still pull it together and escape with a W tonight.

What will Willie do with Alou/Green once Gomez and Endy come back? Give LF to one (or two) of the youngsters? Alou has been what every critic warned he could be this year: injured and not as good as his previous two years. Sometimes, Omar's deals aren't all they're cracked up to be. But I LOVE what we've been seeing out of the young 'uns lately. Good job holding on to those kids, O!

The way Milledge has played in July, I'd say metsy is right about Gomez being sent to New Orleans until September call-ups. I just wish Alou would get his junk together and be somewhat productive. It's not like they need him to anchor the lineup. Just get an occasional hit, Old Man.

Do you think they would really promote Humber? Interesting, but I think that's unlikely. I could see Humber coming up on the 40-man roster and throwing some relief down the stretch...

Sosa threw tonight, so it seems clear that he won't start his turn in the rotation. We'll probably know something tomorrow.

2-run HR by Geoff Jenkins in the bottom of the 13th.

Stellar bullpen again tonight, Mets. Gave 'em RISP in the 8th, 9th, 11th, 12th, and 13th. That's a GREAT way to preserve a game. And the one shut-down pitcher they have never even got to the mound because the offense couldn't get a lead for Wagner.
