I just wanted to know about your cruise. Is this a vacaton cruise or a military cruise? #X.

  • and if it that was the jerk off kay, you say wow kay made a good call. dude it was a fucking great catch from where he was, he wasnt playing shallow and got lucky with the catch and saved the game.i love yankee fans like you, its so much fun always being right isnt it now

Well, it's a lot better than always being wrong. I did know that your comeback would be the typical "Kay sucks too" Met fan response. The thing is, kay does suck. Didn't expect that, now did you? I love everyone in the Yankee booth except the cackling Kay. But I am not a "if it's a Yankee , then it rules" type of fan. kay sucks, but he's still light years ahead of Gary The Homer Cohen.
  • i agree alou should of def laid down a bunt. now sosa is in the bullpen, hmmmmm maybe pedro is coming back faster then anyone is saying.

hmmmm, and maybe Milledge is going to second base........ and maybe Piazza is coming home..... and maybe Tom Seaver is working on a comeback.

What will Willie do with Alou/Green once Gomez and Endy come back? Give LF to one (or two) of the youngsters? Alou has been what every critic warned he could be this year: injured and not as good as his previous two years. Sometimes, Omar's deals aren't all they're cracked up to be. But I LOVE what we've been seeing out of the young 'uns lately. Good job holding on to those kids, O!

    .

Something Willie feels very strongly about, whether right or wrong, is that when it comes down to it, he will always, ALWAYS, go with the veteran. I could see Milledge outplaying Green to the point where he starts in RF, and Green moves to the bench, though. Not necessarily because Willie suddenly goes for a youth movement, but because Shawn Green is just that bad. 29 RBI's?

Willie and his goddamn matchups. If i see Mota one more friggin time, I'm gonna go through the fucking roof.

So this is the team we're stuck with for the rest of the year, eh? This is the bullpen thats supposed to get us to Wagner? Way to fall asleep at the switch, Omar.

What the fuck happened to Sanchez? Anybody?!?!

Division title?!? HA! We'll be lucky to make the playoffs!

We didn't do anything else. Gagne went to Boston. Atlanta picked up Dotel in addition to Texeira. Phillies got Loshe. Yankees traded Proctor for Betemit.

  • this team is just missing something ... there just isn;t the spark there was last year. it is there in pieces with millege, wright, castro, reyes (sometimes), but i am sick and tired of watching beltran, delgado and now alou ground into rally killing double plays.

castillo showed why they got him ... he is solid defensively and having played with the twins (and marlins before that) he knows how to play NL small ball. side note, what about the twins shipping him out only being 5 back.

  • one other thing. as for glavine and 300, i am interested as a baseball fan, but as a met fan i could care less about his 300 wins. he is and will always be a brave.

if his sorry ass could pitch more than 6 innings, maybe he would have been there already.

as an aside, i think that pitch counts have ruined baseball. similar to nfl coaches never going for it on 4th down (or going for 2), pitch counts are the easy way out for managers to make decisions. last night glavine threw 95 pitches ... pathetic.

Agreed on all points...Glavine could go fuck off for all I care..He is in fact a Brave, and it's a crapshoot every time he pitches....The fucking Braves made some great moves..the Mets will have to pick it up considerably if they intend to stay ahead..

Glad the Mets came through last night. Weird game of OP. Gave up a bunch of runs, but also struck out 11. Gotta win it today.

Heilman's been good lately...sadly he's the only reliable jackass in the pen. i'll take him over anyone else leading up to Wagner.

So of course the Mets score early and first, and then just give up the lead... 4 straight hits with two outs, come on!

  • if you haven't noticed, wright about to go on fire in the month of august and carry the team ... 10 for his last 17 ... check that, 11 for 18 as he is going to right very nicely.

4 for 5 today with a home run.

Mets killing in the bottom of the 9th. I hate Aaron Sele. Gave up another homerun, even though it didn't count, he still sucks. Sosa has been pretty good in the bullpen. Big win tonight.

Huge series against the Braves. Would be nice to bury them with a sweep the way they did at the end of July in Atlanta last year.

Of course, Carlos Beltran powered that one. Doubt he'll be able to do the same this year.

Tom Glavine is going to be on Mike & Mike in about 20 minutes...

    Kinda cool story...

So, I'm getting on the train coming back from lollapalooza Sunday... a couple chicago natives are talking about how the cubs unfortunately got beat by the mets, but it was Glavine's 300th win.

Then I get to the hotel jump on the elevator with a guy wearing a Mets jersey, I say "Congrats on the win, I'm glad to see Glavine get to 300!"

    He says, "thanks!" very extatically.

I say "Yeah I hate the Mets because I'm a Braves die hard fan, but we still root for Glavine in every game."

They go, "Ugh braves fans, ugh"

I thought it was funny. Smoltz is my favorite current Brave so I look forward to tonights game, outta be a fun one to watch. We have to play you guys followed by the Phillies so this is a live or die week for us.
