bad trade for Flyers! :x I liked Gange and who did we get? no one that anyone has heard of.

Ya gotta look at it long term

He was getting 5.25 this year and a UFA at the end of the year..they were not going to bring him back at his age and injury history

    He was a cap casuality

Bye Bye Gagne..think it was a good move for the Flyers and even worse move for the Lightning. I'm gonna say he plays 15 games and then will be hurt for 2 months or the season

don't worry, we will be trading some d-man or sending some to the minors. we have 8 dman right now. yet another reason i say we don't go for a turco until late in the season if at all.

I actually like this move for the lighting and the flyers. Yzerman is building a good team but they still need defense.

I don't mind this. He's a decent role player. solid on the PK.

Who are your favorite all time flyers (that you got to watch play)? Off top of my head, my top 5 (in order)

    1 - Lindros
    2 - Recchi
    3 - Richards
    4 - Propp
    5 - Tocchet

Feel like I'm forgetting some guys. Can't believe I don't have any defensemen there.

its tough coming up with number 5. there are so many players that i have liked watching, but don't know if they deserve a spot on the top 5 list. i know i'm missing somebody.

    Kimo
    Pronger
    Gagne
    Desjardan
    Recci
    Renberg
    Lindros

don't mean to sound harsh, but if you're a flyer fan between the ages of 25-35 I don't know how you can NOT have lindros in your top 5. from where the team was when he arrived, to how they grew back into a contender, and almost won the cup. I LOVED watching that dude play. You never knew if he was gonna score a hat trick, put someone through the boards, or beat the shit out of someone...but you knew something was gonna happen. every night.

RIP 88. I still have the black jersey hanging in my closet

yes Lindros was a beast early on, but i've always held a little grudge agaist him because they flyers traded Hextall (and a shit load more) to get him. i guess his career just left me a little filled with broken promises

just went back and looked at his numbers and they sure weren't too shabby

I hear you with the hextall thing. I will always think of hextall as having two separate careers...pre lindros trade and post lindros trade. As far as I'm concerned they are two different players (1 good, 1 not so good).

Lindros was never able to deliver the cup, and he definitely had his issues. That said, I loved him up until the minute he left philly.

I don't think I'll ever get over the 2000 playoffs. A 3-1 series lead, then the stevens hit. Nope, won't ever get over it.

although short on stats and on the back end of his career, Roenick was fun to watch...

not from his Philly days, but nasty none the less

i liked sami kapanen as well. didn't put up a ton of points but was fun to watch play. one second he would be playing on the wing, next shift, he'd be on the blue line.

anouther hard hit....not sami's favorite day as a big leauger

    My Fave 5 :

    1)Lindros
    2)Tocchet
    3)Hextall
    4)Poulin
    5)Brown

That's right Dave Brown ! Best moment for me with Brownie was the 1986 Playoff game where there was a Pre-Game Brawl

Poulin was unbelievable to watch as a defensive center...he could score also scoring 30 a couple of times..I always thought he would come back here and be the head coach one day
