I like Torts but this has to be his last year as coach.  benching of the young players routinely doesn't make much sense at this point.
or sooner, fired. Not all his fault, but understandable.

Not surprised after his comments after the last game.  It was time

It's a shame. He was doing a great job getting us into good lottery position. I'd have kept him to the end of the season.

Loved Tocchet as a player but  not sure about the hire.  Think he has only made the playoffs 2 out of 9 years as a head coach.  I guess better than a college guy they were interviewing but to me seems like  'let's hire a former player to excite the fan base'.

I think he's pretty well respected around the league, and it's well acknowledged he was hired into pretty bad situations. Maybe he was just the best guy for the job. And maybe they had the inside edge being his old team.

Not a bad fit, but his coaching record isn't that great. He's only made the playoffs twice in like 10 years.

It's just been a pretty negative reaction to his hiring. I thought I'd provide an alternate take. I haven't heard anyone tell me who would have been a better hire.

yea not sure if there were any better experienced candidates who haven't already gotten jobs.  Sucks Flyers have sucked now for so long.  NHL playoffs are so great to watch and just want them to get back there to enjoy some playoff hockey at home.

Last Stanley Cup was 50 years ago today. I just happened to pick out my new black dress shirt with orange monogram for a client dinner tonight. Maybe it's a sign.

One from Johnny: How many more Super Bowls does Jalen Hurts have to win to wrangle #1 from Bernie Parent? I say two more.
I say one. What a special player and character Bernie was, but two Super Bowls for a quarterback beats two Stanley Cups for a goaltender. At least in this town. Tough luck for Richie Ashburn on No. 1, too.
And another one from Johnny: I know the list is Eagles-heavy, but 68 just has to go to Jordan Mailata. Jagr was only here one year, with an embarrassing second-round sweep loss to the Bruins. And I'm a huge Flyers fan.
I think Johnny has a good case here. Man, that Jaromir Jagr year (2011-12) was so much fun. His chemistry on the first line with Claude Giroux, his salute celebration, this fan from Episode 1 of 24/7: Road to the Winter Classic… truly an enjoyable experience. But yeah, Mailata (another great personality) probably deserves that honor. The good news is that Jordan has a few more years to leave no doubt.

PHLY published my email on the Philly numbers jawn and I got the year that Jagr played for the Flyers wrong - 2011-12. I thought it was 2010-11. People need to rip me to shreds on this.

Another one I thought of was maybe Realmuto at 10?  I think he’s better than Bowa.  Although personally I’d go with LeClair

If Ashburn had Saquon, he would have won a few.
