me too. i even used to love the batman series as a kid....none of the superheroes ever really caught my attention but i love batman. and this one takes it to a new level!

i really was never into any of em, i just love the batman films. and after the last, batman begins.....i definitely thought the whole franchise was taking a turn for the even better! it's great when such a flick is actually spectacular!

summer is usually a downer of a time for me film-wise...all those kiddie flicks, mindless blockbusters....so always glad when one fits the 'blockbuster' genre AND actually manages to be fantastic too!

The Dark Knight Sets New Midnight Record!

    Source: Variety July 18, 2008

    Record #2? Check!

The Dark Knight grossed the most ever for midnight shows, earning a massive $18.5 million from 3,040 theaters. The number did not include the 3:00 a.m. and 6 a.m. showings.

The Batman Begins follow-up broke the previous midnight record set by 20th Century Fox's Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith which grossed $16.9 million from 3,663 theaters. "Sith" went on to make $50 million in its first day, which was a Thursday. The highest single day opening record is currently held by Sony's Spider-Man 3, which made $59.8 million.

This morning, The Dark Knight expanded into a record 4,366 theaters.

yep saw it again, got to see the scenes that got messed up, but it was worth seeing again. i think there was been but a handful of movies ive seen more than once in theaters.

for all the darkness of the movie there are nicely placed jokes and stuff just to keep it from going too bleak. nolan deserves alot of credit for the pacing of the film.

6 months left but im gonna have to say, movie of the year!

just returned, and seeing it again Monday with my brother. Great movie, one of the few I've ever seen that lives up to the hype. Everyone is great in the movie, story is very well done, forget that's it's a comic book movie, it's an even better movie than Batman Returns. One of the best sequals ever.

I think I read somewhere that Nolan isnt gonna do Penguin or Robin, if he does a 3rd movie at all

I'm sure if there is another film it will probably be the last for Nolan, to create a Trilogy Batman Fans can be proud of

BTW great film w/ some great performances...Bring on the DVD

as far as bad guys go... there not a whole lot left for them to work with that isnt totally cheesy... penguin - no, riddler - no, mr. freeze - hell no, etc... if they do a 3rd (and i agree it would and ultimately should be the last) im not sure what theyll do... but i think a 3rd is necessary and intended the way they ended this one... guess we'll have to wait and see... catwoman i guess would be the best candidate if done right... nolans done a great job so far though!

i heard rumors of phillip seymour-hoffman as the penguin...but i forget from where. :D

they didn't set the end of this one up to show you who's next like batman begins did.

now that would be bad ass! anything would be better than the stupidity that i just watched...can someone explain to me why the "dark knight" doesn't do in the joker? he killed the love of his life...i don't get it at all. besides the movie could have ended about 1/2 an hour earlier and it would have been just fine.

cause "doing in" the joker is not something batman would do... did you even see batman begins? hes not an executioner... hed have to kill basically all the people 2 face killed to really avenge rachels death

i was absolutely content with every detail of the movie

agreed. i actually wanted it to go on for another 2.5 hours. :D

i understand why people would have enjoyed the film, i just wanted a little bit more from it. any batman movie is like a pearl jam album, i'm going to like it (so yes stupidity was a bit much) but not every one can be perfect. as far as length the movie had like three endings...the chase scene, the first death scene, then the second death scene. i could have done without the second one which made the movie 1/2 hour long IMO...but no biggie. Of the 4 movies I've seen this year this was second best to Speed Racer, which, once you get by the kiddie stuff, was actually a much smarter movie than this batman. Ironman, and Indiana 4 were miles behind the prior two.

killing spree would have been nice, BUT i understand that this batman isn't about that. BUT if you pushed your partners murderer of a ledge would you try to save that person? I am as non-violent as they come, and I would definitely have let the joker fall...it's kind of weird that he didn't.
