yeah there wasn't a set-up this time. but here's something interesting from "The Gotham Times," which was one of the websites set up in the Dark Knight viral marketing campaign, that may shed a little light on the next film.

This is from Gotham Times Issue #2: Letters to the Editor

    "Dent Cannot Be Believed"

So now Assistant District Attorney Harvey Dent pretends to turn upside-down the city, speaking of truth, justice and so on. Should we believe him? I think not. The more he's posing as a man of justice, the more it means he is corrupted like every powerful man in the city.

Right now Dent seems different from the others, but that is only part of the game, so he can get power by the fools who support him. A man who comes in the darkest moments to save the situation exists only in fables; in real life, people like that have always had other (bad) intentions.

    Edward Nashton
    Granton Beach

Edward Nashton is Riddler's birth name.
sweet! good find... id say that pretty much confirms it... unless the website is just a virtual BJ for batman nerds and theres no correlation between that and the movie... or they could just use it to throw people off to make the next movie more of a surprise

i think a movie with alot of riddler and a very little 2 face could work well for the next one... just go the complete opposite direction of what they did with their relationship in "batman forever"

    Yup!
Although earlier it was said that the Connor character would be more of a supporting role, but the trailer focused on him so who knows.

just glad to see the govenator isnt in it! (as far as we know) :p

should be cool if T4 can revitalize the series the way "batman begins" did for batman... i always wished they would focus more on the apocalyptic time period and less on stupid prepubescent john connor

bale can make anything good so im pumped for this

I'm on board with that one.

A lot of the revamped series were a breath of fresh air.
Speaking of, new 007 in November, woot!

And a Top Gun sequel in the works with Tom...

bond will be sweet! (though from the short snippet ive read about the plot id rather them go a different direction... fuck avenging vesper... she was a bitch)

top gun?!? fuck that... no one wants to see tom cruise playing shirtless volleyball now... that will be as bad as "lost boys 2" or the remake MTV is doing of "the rocky horror picture show"

Aaron Eckhart is signed on to be part of the third as well.

I believe he has only said that he would like to... I've not seen anything that proves he has actually signed on for another film.

I don't know about the next villain, I think the main point of the Riddler would be too much what the Joker touched on, such as giving out clues to who he was going to kill next.

And I hope two face doesn't come back. He was cool, but it was starting to get annoying when he was about to kill someone....

I think those sites are pretty good as far as correlating to the film. Bruce noting Harvey's "I Believe in Harvey Dent" slogan during the film is one instance.

I agree it would be probably the opposite of Batman Forever. I can see Riddler (just going on that Gotham Times thing) to have it in for Two-Face. Could make for a nice hate triangle between Two-Face/Riddler/Batman

Well, it's now the number 3 box office movie in American History and should pass Star Wars this week. It's been out less than a month and has pulled in 441 million. Though it still has a long way to go to catch Titanic at 600 million.

this movie sucked !!! 2 1/2 hours wasted

    way over-hyped
  • just saw it again and i thought of this awhile ago but seeing it again makes me wonder if batgirl will be in the next movie. they never really show gordons daughter, and she was there when batman decided he would be a villian to save gotham. so in the next movie it could make sense that she would take up the helm. gotham will still need a hero, harvey is either dead or two-face, and batman is gonna be hunted by the police.

I think catwoman will be in it. As people before have said, there is no female lead and also Lucius Fox said something along the lines of Bruce Wayne's new suit 'being tough enough to withstand a scratch from a cat.'

not like they need a cheap ploy for ticket sales.......but a catwomen vs batgirl fight scene, wowzers!!!!!!!!!!

but there seems to be alot of possibles in this movie already mentioned, the riddler, mad hatter, catwoman, batgirl, joker is still alive, and maybe so is two-face.

if nolan is doing it im not worried about them making it to cartoony like what happened with spider-man3, or gods forbid the later batman movies. obviously i dont think they will cram all them in one movie, unless like batgirl dies(gets paralyzed...) real early. remember dark knight had scarecrow, so that is three villians, but they werent all vying for screentime. so kill/capture joker after a 'the killing joke' scene and that will set a dark tone.

The first two movies were directed by Bryan Singer, and the last one by Bret Ratner.

i hate superman, for what seems to be a common reason, he's too powerful. when he was the only superhero it was ok. give all the powers to one guy no biggie. but to have one guy have the same powers as all other heros, and still have them better????? thats too much. they created a dc universe. how does batman compare to superman? or flash? superman is pretty much a god, and that really ruins it. the original superman couldnt even fly, but as the created new heros, they had to increase supermans powers just so he stayed the top dog.

you did mention x-men, this seems to becoming the same problem with wolverine too.......
