im confident they will do one more... and as long as it involves nolan, bale, caine, and freeman it will be just as good as the past 2... i just cant figure out which bad guy theyll use if they do 1 more... being the last of a trilogy it would have to be pretty big... and the joker is really as big as they come

Well...when they did Begins. I'm fairly certain Nolan, Bale, Oldman, Caine, and Freeman signed on for three films.

Bale recently said he is in it as long as Nolan is in it.

I think there will probably one more Nolan film to round out the trilogy...then after that who knows. Just pray it doesn't end up in the hands of Joel Shumaker or something.

Oh god no!.. The way this one ended up, there has to be at least one more.. I think they have at least one more of good story telling left in them and should probably leave it at that..

At the current rate, we probably won't see it til 2011.. doesn't the world end in 2012? Hopefully we'll get another Batman before then! Give us a little hope by leaving Batman off as the good guy. :D

I really hope they release the directors cut of this movie. It seemed like some of the really violent scenes were edited down some.

All I can say is WOW! That was as close to a perfect film as I've seen in a long, long time. Everything was done right. The story was so much more epic in scale then Begins, but it wasn't just your typical "lets make the sequel bigger" BS. Nolan has made the best comic movie of all time.

Eckhart was really really good as Harvey Dent. His character made a huge change over the course of the film and it was totally believable. He pulled it off. Of course, the real star of the show was Heath Ledger. I can't think of anything to add that hasn't been said already.

Seeing it in Imax was definitely the way to go.

went and saw it last night, really enjoyed it, loved the action (not an action genre fan) and the Joker was the best part of the movie, some funny comments as well

Loved the magic trick part too

I want to slide down a stack of $ 32,000,000 too some day

I will have to see Batman Begins now, never saw it before I saw this movie

I enjoyed the movie, but had a little trouble enjoying the performance, and separating the character, from the knowledge that HL is dead. I'm not a HL fan, persey, but it was just in the back of my head the whole time because I loved the character, if that makes any sense.

    yeah I can understand that

those thoughts were going through my head sometimes too, but I tried to just focus on the character and not the man behind the character and what happened to him shortly after the filming ended

yeah, I am going to get my hands on it today

the whole Katie Holmes being in it was an easy way for me to brush it off and become uninterested

oh, and I loved the Joker in a nurse outfit, that I must get a picture of someday to use as an avatar

I'd flag this for spoiler warnings, but assume anyone who read the thread is screwed in that regard already ;)

And the thought that the character was so well done, and that he can't do it again. There's lots of great actors out there who could play the role, don't get me wrong, but it's Ledger's character and it's a shame.

But great movie. The Two Face CGI was a bit over the top in my opinion, but the character was well played, like the rest of them.

And I got PISSED when they killed Gordon, and let out an audible 'thank fak' shortly thereafter.
Didn't see the Dawes' scenario coming.

I know this movie has made so much that it is inevitable that they are going to make a third, but I almost don't want them to do it. I can't see how it could get better than this one. I trust the Nolan brothers could write a good script, and they could come up with a good story, but I think anything would pale in comparison to this one. And it would be really hard for any actor to try and follow up Ledgers Joker.

which is why they would just keep the joker in a "padded cell" and have a new villian or two
not saying it'd be as good as this movie, but i doubt they'll try to replace him and have a new joker

Theres been rumors that the movie studio asked Chris Nolan to find someone to replace Heath in the 3rd film.....I think this would be foolish in many ways, though I understand people wanting the Joker to stick around...He's Batmans #1 villian and a complete badass

The studio would do that, it's all about the money to them. I doubt Nolan would agree to that though. I think the best thing to do would be to cover a different villain and just refer to Joker being locked up or in hiding. Probably best to leave it til the next director after Nolan moves in, Ledger's Joker is Nolan's Joker and no one can mimic that. I do wonder what villain Nolan would choose next though, he's said he wouldn't use Penguin, so I guess he'll have to go for one of the more obscure villains that haven't had a film appearance yet.

I read somewhere that Nolan has enough stock footage of Ledger as the Joker to have him in the third movie.

yeah that was the one, also i think some of the shots of him clapping in the cell are different than whats in the movie too.

I think he may go with Riddler or Catwoman. He could probably write some twisted stuff for them. They really left it open for the third and where the story would go. I hope they don't try and bring the Joker back.

I reckon either Hush or The Ventriloquist will be next. Nolan seems to like his 'realistic psychos'.
