These 60-hour work weeks are preventing me from keeping up with the Mets' start to the season very closely.

From the looks of it, I'm not missing a whole lot just yet. Santana can pretty much say what he wants. His paycheck isn't going to change based on whether he gets booed or cheered. His comments weren't really out of line, from my point of view.

I'd like to see the Mets get on-track against the Nationals this week. That'd be a welcome sight.

John Maine breaks into the win column. Reyes and Beltran go deep. Mets eyeing a sweep of the Nationals on Thursday.

Are you aware of the sad story of the Mets fan who died at Shea Stadium this week? Very regretful, indeed. Rest in peace, sir.

They go from a five-game winning streak to a three-game skid.

Is this what we're in for this year?

Its what we had to deal with last year too, and that was fucking torture.

Hopefully tonight we can get a W, with Johan pitching against the Nats.

Nice outing by Johan. Good job getting through the 7th AND getting two hits at the plate.

Is the secret to winning this year bypassing the middle relief as much as possible? They were awful in Chicago.

No, thats not it. Cause the hitting sucked too. You can't expect to win by only scoring two runs in two games.

Santana's not wrong. They boo on every little thing that goes wrong and while some yankee "fans" have booed jeter and rivera, it seems the instance something goes wrong no matter who it is, the boos come at shea stadium. It's some kind of paranoia or neurotic tendency that results in this for these segment of mets fans.

Now I suppose it's part of the territory, New York, high salaries or whatever, but frankly it's stupid. The reality is that Johan Santana is going to make 30-plus starts and a few aren't going to be so great. Every good pitcher sucks from time to time. It's not an excuse. It's just something called reality. I understand booing Tom Glavine on his final start of last season when they collapsed but not sure I get booing Santana after an April start.
we boo cause where passionate fans and are tired of players not playing to there best. johan wanted to come to nyc and more so for the money. what did he expect people to do kiss his ass. hell even mantle and jolting joe got booed. nyc fan are passionate bunch we dont boo for the hell of it. oh and willie's def gotta show some fire. thank fucking god the old reyes is back.

I didn't watch Tuesday afternoon's game, but on Monday night they were in it even with Zambrano pitching very well. He was up 2-1 when he left the game in the bottom of the 7th.

The Mets didn't need 9 runs each game to win. They just needed drastically better bullpen performance, with a slight increase in offense.

Who's on tap for the weekend? Bravos at home, of course. Welcome back to Shea Stadium, Larry Wayne Jones.
