Great game all around. Great pitching (duh), great offense. David Wright is pretty much favorite player now (I know, its kind of lame and cliche, but the guy is just fucking consistent, and clutch).

I don't think tonight's game is on television for me. I've got to get a better package or something altogether different because the coverage of the Marlins is sketchy.

Pedro takes the hill tonight, trying to keep the Marlins in last place.

Pedro's hamstring is strained. MRI in New York on Wednesday. Mets take it to extras, but the bullpen blows it.

In April Fools' news, this reminds me of the Sidd Finch gag.

Yea its not good, but I also heard, I think on Mike and Mike, that someone was on the plane with Pedro, and he wasn't limping at all, and so there is a possibility that he is not as badly hurt as originally thought.

Yea, it can't be good either way, really.

Somehow the Mets strength (rotation) just went to a weakness...

  • My guess is June is the absolute earliest he'll be back. First he'll have to build up his legs back to full strength, then his arm. This is when trading away so much of the farm system comes back to bite you.

Perhaps you're right, but I don't think the Mets gave up a pitcher who would have helped them this year. Carlos Gomez, yes. But he's an OF. No way Humber, Mulvey or Guerra could have stepped into the rotation nor the bullpen to aid the Mets in '08.

Down the road, we could have a different story.

I look for Petey to land back on the team after the All-Star Break. Pelfrey, Duque, and Sosa will have to fill in the gaps until then. At least we have Johan, Maine, and an excellent start by O. Perez last night.

Awesome game last night. Pelfrey, Duque, are really going to need to step it up now.

Pedro "Glass" Martinez - Hurt again. Bummer.

This guys numbers would be even more mindblowing had he been able to stay healthy and had some offense and a bullpen in his early years in Boston.

Pedro and Griffey Jr. would without argument be the greatest players of all time had they been able to stay healthy throughout their careers.
