Patience. There is still a lot of time before the season. A lot of these are minor injuries, and a few of these guys are already feeling better and will probably play this weekend, like Schneider.

  • They played with fire bringing back the perenially injured Moises Alou. They also made the mistake of bringing him back without a real solid offensive OF who could play when he inevitably went down.

We need someone like Nady back..This is fucking ridiculous!! And Beltran looks like may be bothered by this for the entire season..Delgado is a fucking waste..and who cares about fucking Shneider, who the fuck is that guy? Pedro and Santana are next..I can't believe it's only fucking March and already it feels like the same old Mets..I was optimistic and excited a few weeks ago :(

Well, just be glad it's March 6th, and not April 6th.

Schneider is only going to be the starting catcher for the New York Mets. That's all; nothing more.

Reyes, Wright, Schneider, Ryan Church, Endy Chavez, and Duaner Sanchez are all playing today. Also, apparently Castillo and Beltran are both doing lots of batting practice and running the bases and fielding, and if the season were to start today would be playing. They are just taking it easy because there are a couple of weeks left. Not time to worry yet.

What would the Mets have to give to get Marcus Thames from the Tigers?

He could be a valuable extra corner OF / 1B guy. Alou and Delgado don't inspire much confidence as full-season starters at this point.

  • The Tigers biggest weakness, maybe their only weakness, is their bullpen. The Tigers would want Heilman for Thames. I doubt the Mets would do that. But it's going to take a pretty solid, reliable reliever to get Thames, i would say. Sosa and/or Schoenweis won't get it fone

Okay I'm feeling a bit better this week. It's going to be a long fucking season for sure. I know Schneider will be sharing the catching duties with Castro, but what I was trying to say is that the team may be in trouble if we need to depend on Schneider and Church. Let's hope for a healthy season..

    Edit: Maine looked awesome yesterday!

That's what I'm saying. Everyone should be ready and healthy by opening day except Alou (and maybe Delgado, that bitch). I'm excited for this season. We should be very good.

Some knucklehead told me over the weekend that the Mets were going to have a conversation with Barry Bonds and/or his agents. Is there any shred of truth to that, or was he (a Braves fan) just trying to get on my nerves?

I don't think Omar could be so dense as to bring that guy on-board.

Well, there were several articles floating about recently that said the Mets should talk to Bonds. But I'm pretty sure these were opinions of writers and not based in fact.

Mets looked good the last two days, so I'm getting pretty excited. Also, Beltran and Delgado both played today! That means only Castillo and Alou hasve yet to play, we're definitely getting healthier!

  • rumors are pretty strong that the Mets and Red Sox are close to a deal, with the Mets sending Angel pagan to the Sox for Coco Crisp. Sounds like a total salary dump, as Crisp is owed $30 mil over 3 years I believe.

This was already debunked by about everyone:

  • Well, at least I got to invent/use the words re-bunk and redebunked. The deal didn't make any sense to me, so I'm not really surprised to hear it was bunk. Pagan may be having a great spring, but he'd be a farmhand for the Sox. I'm sure they want to get rid of Crisp's salary, but I can't see just giving him away for a farmhand.

To all Mets fans who will be in the NYC area for the Pearl Jam shows in June:

I would like to propose a motion that we all congregate for a pre-PJ Mets game on June 23rd. The Amazins are scheduled to host--appropriately--the Seattle Mariners at 7:10 pm. Do I hear seconds?

If seconded and agreed upon, let us all buy tickets, consume beverages, and enjoy watching our New York Mets before two days of Pearl Jam concerts.

Keep up the thread. LET'S GO METS!

Where do you Mets fans prefer to sit when you go to Shea?

I found tickets for the 6/23 game in Section 31 for ~$35. What's your opinion of those?

Yeah, I thought the same thing. Just wanted to know a little about the folks I'm dealing with here. ;) Those tickets were just the first option that came up on mets.mlb.com. How do you normally find tickets for games at Shea?

I'm in Florida, so this will be my first (and only) game at Shea Stadium. That's why I'm leaning on you locals a bit.

i can't speak for others but i personally go for the cheapest seats there such as the upper deck reserved behind the plate and for that game before the surcharges, they are 10 dollars.

Personally, I'd prefer to go for cheaper seats and I also like to be along the base path between 1st/3rd and home. I find behind the plate to be a little of an awkward view. Stub hub usually has good tickets, or just showing up and buying at Shea. I've never ever had a problem doing this.

To be honest, there are $10 tickets, which I would much prefer to get. I know it sounds cheap, but I am way low on cash, especially with the concerts this summer.

But, if you guys want to go for the $27 tickets, I could probably scrounge up for those.
