Yea right. Go back to your Philly thread ya jerk.

Yea, if you haven't seen it there is this awesome blog, aptly named http://www.Metsblog.com, which actually has a contract with SNY so there is tons of information and stuff about the Mets over there. You should definitely check it out.

Thanks again! I read Mets Geek for most of my analysis, but I will give a long look to MetsBlog as well.

I went to a ballpark today and saw some live baseball. It's a beautiful Saturday in Tallahassee, Florida, so I went to the university baseball stadium and watched FSU's annual Fan Day Scrimmage. I know it's not quite major leaguers, but it was good to see some guys in uniform playing baseball.

The 'Noles are playing in an exhibition against the Phillies in a couple of weeks, so maybe they can pitch 'em high and tight ;)

"Let me tell you this: Without Santana, we felt as a team that we have a chance to win in our division. With him now, I have no doubt that we're going to win in our division," Beltran said. "So this year, to Jimmy Rollins -- we are the team to beat!"

Need a new hat. Thinking about this one. Classic and fitted. How do I tell what size I need?

  • much better than those lousy spring traing hats (and uniforms) that Interim Commissioner For Life Bud Selig forced all the teams to switch to last year.

Brother yosi, the hat sizing link is in the right-hand frame of the page you linked ;)

Here's the size chart: Measure Your Head.

I have that exact hat (and about three other Mets caps). The Franchise is by far my favorite.

Jose Reyes said Tuesday that he'll be "taking this year more seriously" by avoiding celebratory handshakes and other on-field antics that could upset opponents.

"I'm going to enjoy the game, but I'm not going to do the handshakes with the guys," Reyes said. "I don't want people to talk about that. I just want to play baseball. I want to take care of business on the field. When people see me in the dugout, and they see me not smiling, they'll be saying, 'What's wrong with Jose?' Nothing. I'm just going to be more serious this year."

I think he wants to be serious in a way that avoids the late-season slide he experienced in September last year.

And I applaud him for that!

  • I always get a XL in the Franchise, but the best idea is to go to a hat shop and test them out. Cause twins enterprises (Right here on Yawkey way baby!) franchise hats can run a little weird. 7 5/8 would be the big end of the XL size, not the average.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I want Jose to be serious, but I also want him to be smiling and having fun. I like it when everyone is in a good mood. Not that I want them to be crazy or cocky, but it just makes me happy to watch happy Mets.

I'm so fucking excited for this year!! I didn't think I would be considering how last year ended, but obviously the Santana trade helped and i'm all for Beltran taking a more leadership role...oh and Reyes should settle the fuck down, glad about that too..

Shouldn't Willie "The Disciplanarian" have put an end to this garbage years ago? I lost some respect for Willie when I heard that he went to see reyes and his family over the winter to patch things up over the benchings last year. uhhh, if you hit a grounder to third and stand in the box, and do it more than once, you should be benched. in fact you better be benched. The other players on the team, the guys who bust their asses on every play all year, surely take notice when someone loafs. the manager risks losing 24 guys to protect one. So much for Willie being old school

Apparently, Willie hasn't retained nearly as much of that persona as we would have expected. Omar must've rubbed off on him with that whole visiting players in the off-season stuff. He's turning into a kinder, gentler Willie before our eyes.

What's next? Ice cream breaks and nap-time between innings? A leather recliner in front of their lockers? Toughen-up, Willie.

Mets are supposed to be taking on the University of Michigan today. Here's a live box score. Wolverines are going down!

Our hometown Seminoles are in Clearwater to take on the Phillies tonight. Here's hoping the 'Noles slide-in with spikes up!

What's the latest buzz about PJ touring through NYC this summer? That would make it easier for us to plan to come see a Mets game @ Shea.

Mets are tied with Michigan in the sixth. All the starters and pitchers have played sparingly for the Mets. Wolverines have yet to make a substitution in the field.

I know it's meaningless, but it's just fun to know that the Amazins are back on the diamond.

You know what's great though. The Mets are gonna be better this year than last year, and Philly could only make the playoffs because of the Mets collapse, not because they were actually good. So, I would say this year you guys have no chance.
