  • check out Delgado blowing off the fans today, and at the behest of no other than David Wright, who could clearly be seen imploring Delgado to not go out for the curtain call.

another one to check out. Cubs fans getting deep under the skin of Joe Smith

Two of three from the Braves. I'll not complain about that.

Here come the Pirates for three, with Johan set to greet them at the door.

Mets vs. Mariners on 6/23. So far, the best suggestion has been to buy tickets in the upper levels for cheap. Feel free to add to the discussion.

    Let's Go Mets!

I'm going to take the unpopular stance of agreeing with delgado for standing up to this booing culture. they boo him for three weeks, guy hits two home runs and they like him again. it's rather phony. he's on your team for this year and you're either with him or you're not.

I could understand if the guy has a career that sucks or underachieves but for the most part he hasn't. He's just getting older and while the home runs might not come as often as they did two years ago, he's still going to hit them.

I totally agree. Also, if you heard/read Delgado's interview after the game, it was clear that he wasn't even trying to ignore the fans. He just thought that it was a close game, and that it wasn't the right time to go make a curtain call. I think that it was fine not go out.

Two more things. The booing has to stop. Its still only a month in, and I hate the idea of booing players on my team. Unless they have just sucked it up for all season, and continue to suck it up. Also, the booing should only come at the after they fuck up. Not before. If Heilman is sucking (which he is) boo him after he fucks up, not because he's been fucking up. If you have to boo.

Second, enough with this Delgado story. Its been blown way, way out of proportion. I think everyone would have forgotten about it two seconds later, if EVERY single reporter/announcer hadn't kept talking about it.

    /End rant.

It was nice to see the Mets take 2/3 from the Braves. Hopefully we can go for a sweep against the Pirates. Can't wait to see Johan pitch again.

I definitely heard it, I was standing around him postgame and i didn't even mention it, except putting in that he heard cheers from the same fans that had booed him earlier in the game.

im so sick of these fucking pussies crying everytime we boo them, welcome to NEW YORK CITY.course where gonna boo if you go 4-49. these met players are as soft as they have been in recent years. theres no fire in this team. as for wright saying to delgado dont go out there, thats totally false. if you look at the clip you will see delgado has a bat in his hand and there talking bout hitting. oh and i lost alota respect for darling for making a big deal bout the curtain call, who cares ron. your just adding more fuel for us met fans. i also think its the fans being very pissed for the past 5 years of hearing oh this team is gonna go to the world sersis year after year and always finding a way to come up short.
