I like Bubba, the guy. Last Friday I wanted to listen to Jay Thomas' show, but when I got in my car a little before 8am Pacific Howard was on 100 and Bubba on 101. I listened to Bubba and it was ok, but not something I'm going to make a point to listen to. I think it is cool how Howard has set up the channels with stuff for a lot of different tastes. I did enjoy listening to Bubba and his guys talk about the presidential race. But I didn't get all the inside jokes and I can't get invested in learning a whole new show's lingo!
The humor is just not funny to me. Belive me, I gave it a chance. I completely understand that there is an audience out there that digs him (it appears to be mostly southern) and thats why he has a show. I do think that if Sirius really wanted to lock him up, they would have paid him and gave him a multi year deal. The dude works two jobs. I am sure he is not starving (I saw Bubba cribs), but if he is one of your "guys", you pay him and give him a long term deal. I would not be suprised if they do not renew the deal when it comes up next year.

Ferrall however is fucking awesome. I hear his morning rerun on 101 and they should definately put him on Friday mornings and market his show more. Howard hardly mentions him.

Yeah I wasn't really defending him or arguing with you. I don't think about him enough to care if he's on the channels or not. I think it's interesting when Stern talks about him.

I think Sirius is thinking Bubba is not going to bring in a lot of new subscribers, his show is more of something you would discover after having Sirius. I would not be surprised if they didn't renew his contract next year either. It would disappoint me though, even though I don't listen to him. I think it's cool to have real radio people on the channels.

It does seem like Howard doesn't mention Ferrall or Bubba that much anymore. I don't think it's intentional, there's a lot going on and I don't want the show to be a constant commercial for what else is on 100 and 101. There is enough ads during the show for other shows and plugs for various things.

Artie in the chair was great.

The argument between Howard and Robin about Obama was good too.

WTF with Artie. He's got to be the most self destructive human being ever. Give him a dream job and it's still not enough. Starts shit with high pitch Mike (which is funnier than hell), starts with the Bleeding Deacons, and then this today with Teddy. He's out of control anymore. As much as I love the guy and don't want to see him leave, it's pretty much time.

today was by far the most compelling show in the history of Howard Stern. I couldn't even leave the room because I had to hear every second of it. I've never heard Howard or Robin more upset than they were today. I couldn't believe it.

Artie got into an argument with Teddy in the hall about his passport during a break. When they came back Howard mentioned something about it and Artie was pissed at Teddy about that, but then other things started coming out. Turns out Artie really has a problem with Teddy because he claims Teddy stole money from him, and also that Teddy is unappreciative. Teddy is in bad off financially and Artie feels bad firing him, and Teddy wants to quit but he can't b/c he needs the money. The argument goes on and on, then out of nowhere, Artie just trys to attackk Teddy by rushing across the room to hit him and take him out. I guess a ton of people had to step in to break it up. Artie said he resigns from the show and went home.

The best line during the whole thing was when Artie was first airing his displeasure with Teddy

"He goes into Bloomingdales to find something for me and goes 'sorry Art Bloomies doesn't have it'. Who the fuck says Bloomies? Don't ever call it fucking Bloomies around me bro! people will think I hired some fag"

Corduroyboy & thunderdan, thanks for the heads up. Lately I have been kind of burned out on Howard. With baseball season starting I have been listening to more games than Howard. From listening a little yesterday, I thought they were off next week since they were all talking about Jason's bachelor party in Amsterdam being next week.

Anyway, I wasn't planning on listening today and was actually ok with them being off next week since it will give me a break. But hearing this about the show today I can't wait to hear it! I know a lot of people hate High Pitch Mike, but I think some of the things he says are right on about Artie not being appreciative of what the show has given him and taking the show for granted.

Corduroy, I thought you made a great point a Ed's show Monday night about how Artie would never miss one of his standup shows, but is ok with missing Howard's show.

I don't know what happened yet, but I can see how Robin and Howard would be upset about how Artie treats the show.

If someone doesn't mind, can you give me an idea on what time all this stuff with Artie starts? Is it during the news? I usually listen to the replay on my ride home that starts around 2:30 or 3 my time (PDT). Sometimes, I catch the news right before then. Greatly appreciated.

they pulled the replay! The replay today on Howard100 is from Monday's show...wow that is big. I heard it live and hoped to catch it later tonight. I guess that means no Howard TV either.

On a related note, SFN crashed

wow! they are not replaying it on 100.....this is serious..... :(

This is some crazy shit!!! It must be something with that position on the show. The loyalty everyone else on the show has is so great, yet Artie doesn't give a rats ass about anything but himself.

All I know is that when they run the Howard 100 news clips, no one wants to say much about what happened.
