well I didn't have zits as a teenager. a few, but no bad acne. not until I was 25. Now I get like one big huge boil thing at time, that scabs up and never goes away-not typical acne (I think it's because I can't be bothered with lazer hair removal anymore, so I'm always plucking my face). I actually found that my skin improved after I stopped using acne treatments. now I just use a tea tree oil mask like once a week to clean out the ol' pores. as I said, I'll worry about the zits after I can do a triathlon again.

So you may be fine! I just found that I was pretty much blemish free until I hit my 30s and then it all went pear shaped! :rolleyes: But then I still don't get that many pimples, I just get shitty because I am getting the odd wrinkle AND my skin has changed quite a bit, and the pimples do pop up still! Just doesn't seem fair to me! Bloody hormones!! Useless to me!!
You'll probably keep that fair porcelain Irish skin of yours! Don't stress.

That's great Jane! Not sure that vegan would be the way to go for me, but I do my best to eat organic, and I find that's made a difference for me.

ya it just sounded kinda weird to me.. someone who told you you shouldnt even put your face directly under the shower should be directing you to a dermatologist... its funny cause you do all these things to your skin and then you go to one of these facialists and they give you a panic attack. i used to work with a girl who told me i had rosecia and my skin was so sensative and dont put ANYTHING on it.. and then i went and had a facial outside the salon and she told me my skin was fine. most of them only know the products they work with. its just like makeup artists.. some like warm tones, some like cool and they don't really follow your face. thats why whenever i have a question i just go up to the person who has what i like and ask them.
i will try to hunt down some samples for you as well.. if you want of course. it might be easier for me to get.. or i mght have some already. ill let you know

well last week I tried pretty much all the moisturisers... and they were all too heavy and oily for me . I did get the coconut body butter in the body shop though still a bit heavy but I love it. As for the other stuff... I'll probably just stick with what I know and like

The coal face is so good! I love it! And I didn't think I would because of the smell, but I'm actually getting quite fond of it. It leaves my skin feeling really clean and fresh and gets rid of dry skin too. I can thorough recommend the Sympathy for Skin. There's something about those bananas that really have softened and moisturized my skin, which is amazing to me because my hands in particular have been really suffering and looking dry and yucky with all the hand washing that's been going on since the dog arrived. But I put Sympathy on after my shower and it keeps my hands soft and stops them from drying out all day AND it's not GREASY!
And as for the Bohemian soap, well I'm a sucker for anything lemon, so I love the stuff!

My Dad gets really bad psoriasis and he swears by the coconut oil and the sister in law and I get a bit of eczema and have found the Pawpaw ointment really, really good. But then you'll probably do really well with the Sympathy for Skin. Yeah, steroids, sometimes I wonder if they're even remotely as good as all the hype! I've had some massive doses of them and I can't say that they seemed to hurry the situation along at all.

I wouldn't like the idea of paraffin oil - isn't that a petroleum product?

Imperialis is one of the lighter ones, and its supposed to balance your skin (if it is combination oily/dry). Enzymion is for oily skin. I use Skin's Shangri-La or Almond Kisses because winter is pretty brutal up here, and Shangri-La has lots of antioxidants in it.

I get all my make up and skin care at the body shop. they seem to have gone downhill after loreal bought them out, and now with the death of their founder no telling where the products will go. they claim to still focus on sustainability and free trade, so that's why I buy there.
Last year they took my shade of foundation off the market. I was devastated and couldn't find any foundation I liked better (and the shade matches my skin perfectly). But then the day after christmas I found a store that was selling it on clearance for $3! I bought all 15 bottles. I don't know what I'm going to do when it all runs out.
