nice. Hopefully Toronto stays hot tomorrow. Matsuwalksalotofguys vs. Burnett. And the Yankees finally hit Cabrera. hasn't been a problem for the rest of baseball.

Then we get to the main event

    Pettitte vs. Wakefield
Ponson vs. Byrd (oooof, should be a slugfest, unless Byrd has been to his dentist for some HGH lately)
    Mussina vs. Lester

I like Pettitte over Wakefield, and Mussina over Lester. The middle game though, who knows.
omg man... we have the potential to sweep these fuckin guys...lets just DO IT YANKS!!!!

tomorrows gonna set up this series big time esp if we win and the SAHX lose

  • 4 or 5, I think they absolutely have to take 2 of 3. Can't afford to lose ground and take 3 games off the schedule. Puts some pressure on Pettitte, but there's noone I'd rather have on the mound with the pressure turned up a bit. If they can knock Wakefield out early and get into that bullpen, it would be huge. It's not that good to begin with outside of the closer, and they've been overworked quite a bit lately

I'm a little more optimistic after the last two games. Maybe teams need to get humiliated so bad like Thursday in Toronto that they feel some of their pride is lost that they restore it by grinding out wins like they've done the last two nights. That being said, they have to sweep the Orioles. I hate winning series when they've won the first two games and dropped the third.

That was 2003. They were 16-3 in the following 19 games. Of course with the exception of a three-game sweep of St. Louis and the finale vs. Houston, seven of those games were against Tampa Bay and six were against the Mets, two teams that were awful that season.

exactly like x man said, that was 03...thats why, its stuff like that that I never give up on with the Yankees till the very last game. And yea I absolUTELY think we take 2-3 or even sweep these guys! I like how no SAHX fans are here right b4 this big series...they'll be waiting to see if they beat us to come here in this thread. Only one I expect is g under p ;)

Agreed on today's game. They absolutely have to sweep. These are the games they have to win. Well they need to win as many as possible, but they can't let up. Everyday has to be treated like a playoff game at this point. It's gotta be the lineup if we are to get hot. Everyone keeps trashing the pitching (and they have been inconsistent for sure) but the reason this team has been so mediocre is that the bats just aren't producing. The number of runs scored this season compared to last has been a huge drop off. I'm hoping the presence of Godzilla in the lineup gives em a boost. Clearly he won't be 100%, but having a guy choose the team over himself and fight to get back out there at probably only 60 to 75 percent of his true self should be something that the rest of this team can feed off.

I'm starting to think there will be just one spot for the Yanks and Sox. I really thought Tampa would fall apart when they lost Crawford and Longoria at the same time, but they're playing even better without them. In fact, the one spot for our boys could go to the Twins or White Sox. Imagine that, a Boston/Yankee free october. Could happen

dude, it's common knowledge, and widely reported that one of the reasons they finally had enough of him, and traded him, was that he faked a knee injury to get out of facing Felix Hernandez and Joba. When they sent him for the MRI, the idiot didn't know which knee hurt, so they MRI'ed both. Both came back clean. But don't let facts get in the way of a good argument. As we all know, facts, and the truth, have a well known Yankee bias.

Since I enjoy these discussions we have here, you and would hate to see you get banned, you should probably cut the name calling out. I mean seriously, and I've asked before based on some of your posts----are you 12?
so instead of responding to mannys amazing ability to shut yankee fans up. you babble about his act to get out of town.

and on what planet am i going to get banned? you see my post count? the same tone and content for years.

am i 12? no 12 year olds make up stories about sox players and fabricate stats.

. Unless you think every single Yankee fan would run over a rEd Sox fan if he saw them, and that it's okay for Sox fans to walk up to anyone with a NY plate and take batting practice on their head?
    yes
