Yeah it had to be Meacham. He sends everyone and their mother on base hits. They know Elsbury doesn't have a good arm.

probably because you felt badly how steinbrenner treated him by making him ride the columbus shuttle in the 1980s.

funny. every time a guy gets thrown out at home, I expect meachem to be sent down to Columbus to be their 3rd base coach.

As for the play, I put it more on Damon. he drew the throw, but as soon as Ellsbury threw it, he headed back to the bag. The throw was way off line, he should have read the throw and broke home.

I would understand if he was swinging wildy at bad pitches. But he saw a pitch he could handle. It's his birthday he at least deserves a day off of criticism.

Weekend jobs? I'm sure they would have navigated their busy schedules and found a few minutes to chest thump had Boston won the first 2. I think they're all just huddled up in a room somewhere trying to come up with a way to spin the Manny deal. best part si the manny apologists didn't mind at all when he roughed up a 62 year old man,but when he says he wants to play elsewhere, well, that's the last straw

I died with this team in the scrubby 80's, was right there in the 90's for our good yrs and if we go thru another 10 yrs of suckin I'll still be a diehard.

i remember those teams 1989-1992 decently and even though they didn't even make the playoffs, 1993 is still one of the most exciting seasons.

damn, okay so maybe I do got u beat by just a lil. I got dran to the yankees my 1st yr in NY, 1980 and even tho we sucked..I still loved watching Steve Kemp, Claudell Washington, Steve Sux, Wayne Tolleson, Soul Glo Mel Hall, and how bout the prospects? Maas, Meulens, Brien Taylor, etc

you definitely got me beat. i was 11 when the yankees lost 95 games in 1990. I don't remember Kemp much, but I still recall Mel Hall homering off Jeff Reardon on Memorial Day 1991. And Meulens was a regular on the Columbus shuttle back in those days.

i think it might have been, as for farr, i remember him as the closer in 1991 before steve howe came on the scene.
