I went down there to the park, I didn't see Cone?
Leiter was there and a few other 'old timers' that I can't recall at this moment but there was a big line for them. Oh Bucky Dent was down there.

As much as I hate "The Giambino", I'm sure glad to see him hitting like he has been lately. Would love to see him keep it up, but I'm not holding my breath.

Pettitte/Joba going tonight. What is going to be interesting is what happens next week when IPK's spot in the rotation rolls around. Who gets the start? Pettitte? Joba? Karstens?

I guess Joba. Since they're gonna up him to 75 pitches his next outing. And that could be 5 innings if he throws 15 an inning.

Bucky Dent was my favorite player when I was a kid playing tee ball because I played shortstop like him. I was not a happy camper when the Yanks pushed him to the side and signed the overated Roy Smalley from the Twins. Then they traded Dent to the Rangers for...........Lee Mazzilli. Oh how I hated George of the 80's. And I was just a kid.

Joba starting on Tuesday. And Mussina now has 8 wins. Could he finally get 20?
    I miss igotid88
  • Amazing. How many people thought Mussina wouldn't have 8 wins all year? And how many thought he would have 8 with 2/3rd of the season left? I would have pegged him for 12-10, 14-12, something like that. I really hope he gets to the All Star Game with his strong start. Liek i said last week, not many 11 game winners are left off the AS roster

i thought he'd be decent because i saw how he pitched towards the end of last year, but my definition of decent at this point was more like 5-4, 6-4, etc and not 8-4.

Moose is actually on pace for his first 20 win season. HA!! I think the Yanks are primed for a run. They get Posada back next week and should be off running.
Hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the jon so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz? YEEAAHHH. I don't care if he is Mr. Notorious BIG, can he croon?

I wonder if he does get the 20. Do they resing him for next year? I know I'm thinking ahead to soon. But most of us were upset he got the 2 year extension.

  • depends on what Hughes and Joba do in the rotation the rest of the year. If anything, it would be a 1 year contract. Right now, Wang is the only lock for next years rotation. Joba and Hughes are very likely. Rasner, if he keeps this up. pettitte might retire. Who knows what Kennedy will be like the rest of the year.
  • igotid88igotid88 Posts: 28,067
Pettitte said he might want to play in the new stadium. Moose would make a good #5 next year. If he keeps this up.

Has anyone here had a problem with their YES channel in the last month or so? It keeps freezing up on me. And right now it's black. We called the cable company to check it out. The day they come it works just fine. They leave and it causes problems again. Other channels have been doing the same thing also. But I watch YES more cuz of the yankee games.

Sounds like the same problems we have with our cable (Time Warner) down here. They have had a lot of problems with the HD boxes. I don't know how many times I've had to reboot the damn thing to get everything working right.

  • so, who else thought that Blackburn was dead, or at best unconscious, when Abreu hit him? When his head flopped to the ground, and then both arms flopped also, I thought for sure it was lights out for him
