i have no idea when the last time the yankees successfully laid down a pair of sacrifice bunts in a tie game in the eighth inning, but it led to their second win of the season when scoring three runs or less. They didn't get that until June 29 of last year.

Nice to see them bunt. Even O'Neil brought it up last night on the broadcast how he was always against bunting when he was a player, but now he sees how many runs are probably lost because teams don't bunt and leave the ducks sitting on the pond.

As far as A-Rod not hitting with runners in scoring position. Apparently he hits well enough to be one of the top RBI guys every season. Also, lets apply it to the whole team. The Yanks as a team have left a lot of runners on base over the last few years. Clearly there have been issues with Alex in the post season, but no one can argue with what he has done during the regular season.

Good win last night. Hughes pitched great and the bullpen was stellar. And it looks like this Toronto team is going to be tough. They will have very good starting pitching if they can stay healthy.

    IT's called Girardi ball baby.
When also last year did Mo get his second save? End of April? Maybe early May

    .
    b/c he hits home runs
when he comes up with a chance to give the Yanks the lead, like last night
    bupkus
he struck out, and went 0 for 4

that's what I'm talking about, he doesn't come through in the clutch on a regular basis.

no but it seems this thread gets more comments when things go wrong. we should just use this to discuss the games win or lose.

Someone posted his BA with runners in scoring position a few posts up. It didn't suck. Believe me, I am mostly playing devil's advocate here, but the truth is that no matter what the guy does on the field it will never be considered enough. He is judged differently because of his personality/arrogance etc. then other players.

I should also mention that he has come up small in the playoffs when it really matters and I wouldn't have had a problem with the Yanks not resigning him. See, there ya go. A little of the good and a little of the bad. ;)

    that's, um, democratic :)
but it's the thread, there are no rules for who/what/can be discussed
as long as it is about the Yankees
who are ALL really freaking sucking right about now! Ugh!

there's that's equal. Everybody sucks tonight
