On the flip side, how about a rotation of Jaret Wright, Jeff Weaver, Kevin Brown, Sidney Ponson, and the ace, Carl Pavano?

I totally agree about vazquez. they gave up on him way too quick. The only redemption for that trade is if Ohlendorf or Steven Jackson (both brought over for randy Johnson) turn out to be solid major league pitchers
And didn't the Yanks get Alberto Gonzalez in that trade as well?
Hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the jon so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz? YEEAAHHH. I don't care if he is Mr. Notorious BIG, can he croon?
  • yes, Gonzalez was in that trade also

Well I guess Joba is human. It would have helped if the Yankees didn't strand nine or go 2-for-7 with runners in scoring position but it happens.

As for Chamberlain, it's the second time he had two walks in an inning, first regular-season blown save, second home run allowed. Mike Lowell also homered off him. It also stops a 11 2/3 scoreless inning streak for the bullpen.

I think you mean he is human. I think the ump wasn't giving him the close calls. Because he got hit in the leg with one of his pitches. And about the Yanks stranding runners. Bases loaded with one out and only manage 1 run. Barely. If Giambi doesn't hustle. Same thing against Detroit last week.

This seems to be one of the biggest problems for the Yanks. Drives me nuts.

Cano with a good day. Haven't been too many of them this season. Wasn't he Mr. Slow Start last year as well? He's not even in the neighborhood of the Mendoza line! He's been my biggest disappointment so far, even more so than Hughes and Kennedy.

I see Jeter was supposed to hit cleanup today. Joe G. certainly likes to play around with the lineup card doesn't he. With all the injuries etc. I guess it has been a necessity, but it will be nice when they can settle in with a lineup. A-Rod should be back by weeks end and that should help.

Watched some of the game yesterday. Even when Farnsworth doesn't give up a bunch of runs, he still scares the hell out of me.

I really like Rasner. I know it is still early with him, but I thought he pitched pretty well last year in limited duty before getting injured.

Cano had a good week. Let's hope he is coming around.

I know it's early. But even though A-Rod and Posada aren't there doesn't mean they aren't allowed to score runs. I mean. Come On.

Yea. Although I love home runs. I thought this year we were going to create runs. And not wait for the big blast. At least Wang isn't getting an L.

well yanks are one loss from being in last place. Rivera gives up 1st run of the year. I'm getting sick of that Gomes.

some teams might have gotten fired up after a HR like that. not this team. not right now, at least.

but i guess that's ok for anyone who subscribes to the popular media notion that the yankees are somehow supposed to be "above" showing emotion.

damn... they really need jorge back...

I thought they were fired up, the rays made some good pitches most of the night with the exception of that one to Matsui.

they did make good pitches. but the yankees just seem kinda stagnant right now... to me, at least.

not really a reason to worry... the roster isn't exactly in top shape right at the moment. just an observation.

I agree, they are "only" 4.5 games out with 122 to play. Plus once they get their lineup back to 100% they will even out.
