I totally fogot about those murderous fuckers. Not trying to pee on any bodies christmas parade. But a whole lot of indigenous people on my continent died in the name of that Jesus fella. Some of it intentionally and some inadvertently. (millions of incas, mayans, and aztecs died of disease brought from Europe)

I read something once about the aztecs, they were into sacrificial worship of Gods and vastly outnumbered the spanish though believing (cos of the sight of men on horseback) they were insome way blessed. Maybe Im wrong but wasnt gold and profit the primary aim of the conquistadors,,,, murderous Im sure they were

    certainly

Yes, I realize Christian traditions have pagan roots. I'm not going to get overly caught up in the roots of the traditions when the fruit is far more important.

and there are others who refuse to accept this, those who were my reply was aimed at, not someone like you

well, my reply wasn't meant to be 100% all inclusive of every single 'christian' in the world...my ex's mother is a born again, same w/ my ex's sister and her husband...they take it too far...if you would say the holiday is based on pagan celebrations to them they'd get upset and not believe it...but then the husband sincerely believes they found adam and eve's bones and they were 50 ft tall but it's not reported b/c the secular humanists don't want the 'truth' to be known
    standin above the crowd
he had a voice that was strong and loud and
i swallowed his facade cos i'm so
    eager to identify with
    someone above the crowd
someone who seemed to feel the same
someone prepared to lead the way

I'll say this much: you're one of the few who doesn't resort to the generalization.

If you think that, you might as well forget about science altogether. The bible is a nice fairy tale with some very good life lessons in it (beneath the layers of bullshit), imo, but no thanks.

I can't believe a Christian, or at least that is what you claim to be, would feel this way about it.

  • Miller pounded into people's heads? Thats a rather poor choice of language if I ever saw it. Perhaps taught from a young age would be a better way to put it? I would think letting each person deciding whether they wanted to follow that path would be a better route to take, but everyone can bring up their children as they see fit. If God could be scientifically proven to be a non-entity (which will never happen but for sake of arguement) would you refuse to believe it? I don't think science has all the answers to life (far from it) but to dismiss its importance seems rather strange.
    The wind is blowing cold
Have we lost our way tonight?
Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

    Feels like were all alone
    Running further from what’s right
And there are no more heroes to follow

    So what are we becoming?
    Where did we go wrong?

A bunch of bullshit? You rely on science as much as you rely on god, believe it or not.

If you want to put your lfie in the hands of a doctor or scientist..than fine by me. lol

I hope you never get seriously ill or wounded because if so you'll have to put your life in the hands of a doctor or in the hands of science.
    THANK YOU, LOSTDAWG!

You see the beauty of science as a weakness.

Science adapts to new information. It evolves.

Religion only adapts when science forces it to.
I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire

    That's a good observation.
