Just think how many other conflicts and wars the US picked a side and aided them too. It gets even more ridiculous! Does it piss me off? Yes because of the extent of the aid. The government wastes a ton of money every day that could be for a better use.

Ok the Jews do not run America lol. The US lets Israel borrow about 1/3 of the US foreign aid in grant and stuff. So if anything the US owns them but that being said the US borrows trillions of dollars from China. How ironic is that? So if the US is to blame for the continuing conflict in the Middle East, would China also share the blame then?

I know WHY the government backs them... plenty of reasons... but I want to know why people are ok with that. Like I said, it might be different if they were investing all that money to find peace... but funding ONE side of a conflict has never had a happy ending for the US, has it?

Also, I suggest you read "The Israel Lobby and US foreign policy" by John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt, then get back to me and tell me how the US "owns" Israel.....

Not mention also look into how many dual Israeli-American citizens hold positions of power in the White house....

Anyone who has a hope of a fully understanding needs to at the very least understand AIPAC and it's relationships to US foreign policy thoroughly.

Thank you that was the question asked in my original post... I didn't want this turned into just another who's right Israel V Palestine thread... but it was coming from a different perspective. It was NOT intended to bash either side, there are plenty of threads for that. But I was just pointing out the fact that if it were over here and a candidate said something like what the American candidates say about Israel (pledging more money and support) the media would be all over it right away and it would never get off the starting blocks. And you have to admit, that the war in Iraq is BOUND to be loosely connected to America's support of Israel? If there is a war in Iran (which they seem to be pushing for) the support of Israel will be one of the MAIN reasons... and there goes another trillion of YOUR money down the drain :( I don't know how you put up with it.
