    i reached out and grabbed gerard's arm as he passed. he looked at me and waited for me to continue. i never noticed before but his eyes were the coldest blue.
    'call me later?'
    he shook his head slightly.
    'you really are a headcase you know that?'
    'yeah i know that'
    he half smiled. i took that as a partial forgiveness
    'call me?'
    'yeah maybe. you're doing good work by the way.'
    it was my turn to smile. gerard kissed my cheek and left.

    there was no way i was going to get back into my work now. i grabbed my coat, pulling it on. i closed the door behind me ,making sure i walked in a direction away from gerard's.

    I am so worried about her Vincent. She is not doing well and she hasn't been for a while. Freya spoke to her husband who was noticeable thorn between his wife's worries for her sister and his own dislikes for Anna.

    Well you may be right, but I cannot just stand by and watch her strugeling. I know that how ever hard you try with her she's gonna try harder to push me back.

    vincent laughed at his wife.

    'well why wouldn't i be happy not dealing with her. she drives everyone around her nuts and she sails through it all like the queen of fucking sheba.'

    vincent could see his attitude hurt freya but he couldn't help the way he felt. and in that way he was like anna. he saw no need to sugarcoat what he thought just to spare people.

    Fine you're sucha great help, you are. Now come sit your ass at this table I wouldn't want to see my pasta getting cold. Maybe you can at least help me with that. She smiled without joy to try and soften her words.

    crossing the room to freya, vincent wrapped his arms around her and kissed her neck. she wasn't going to let go of anna and she wasn't going to allow him to get away with whatever it was he was trying to hide. he thought she didn't know anything. unfortunately for vincent, his wife was way more perceptive than he ever gave her credit for.

    vincent said nothing. it appeared she was more like her sister than he anticipated. perhaps he was just ignoring the similarities. perhaps not. every now and then freya tried to play with the big boys, but it only ended up with her crying on the bed. sometimes after cursing his name. often times with him staying out of the house for the night. he did love her. if only they could be rid of anna, then her full attention would be on him.

    At times like these he felt they were in this relationship with the three of them. He could well do without a the hassle Anna added to their relationship, there was plenty of their own.

    You know Freya it's all well and good that the little nutter is your sister and you feel she can't do without your help, but what about us. What about you and me.
