sitting at her desk, freya wondered what was going on with anna. how she'd cope without davey. it had been nearly three weeks since they'd call it quits. or whatever it was. a truce of somekind? anna hadn't really been without a man. ever since she was a teenager, anna had felt the need to be around boys or men. considering their father, freya found that interesting to say the least. until davey, she'd managed to hook up with the most unstable fellas she could find. drinkers, petty criminals. one guy she found when she was eighteen wouldn't, or couldn't have sex unless anna was tied up. that for as long as it took for her to find a bottle to drown herself in. the guy came home one day and there was anna naked, dead drunk or comatose on his bed. he freaked out, drove her to a hospital and never spoke to her again. davey was the best thing that had happened to her sister and freya had to think that with his leaving, it was only a matter of time before anna did something 'stupid'. she had to think that anna's actions were stupid because if she remembered that everything anna ever did was deliberate, it meant there was something seriously wrong with her. as if being depressive wasn't serious enough.

When I woke up it was almost two hours later. I was annoyed that Hamish didn’t wake me. I waked into the living room to see if he was still there. He was and he was sleeping as well.
