interesting tidbit i just read over @ BTX boards from an attendee @ Glastonbury who saw some of the action up close :
BUT THAT DAMN STAGE BEING SO FAR AWAY FROM THE CROWD WAS SOMETHING THAT REALLY PISSED BRUCE OFF. HE DID HIS BEST TO MAKE EYE CONTACT BUT HAD ABOUT 50 GOONS ( GLASTO SECURITY) IN THE WAY. I COUNTED THAT HE TOOK THE LONG JOURNEY (20 YARDS) DOWN TO THE FRONT ROW ON 12 SONGS !!!! . WE ALL KNOW HOW CRUCIAL HAVING EYE CONTACT IS FOR HIM -AND HE REALLY SHOWED WHAT A REAL PRO HE WAS LAST NIGHT.

Bruce literally leaves me with my jaw on the floor sometimes. Over the last few days I've taken the time to catch up on all the TV broadcast footage from the festivals the band has played this year, and I've never seen such energy on stage from any band.
I can't believe how crazy they still are at their age, it just knocks me over. The energy this year seems a lot higher than last year when I saw the band.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, U2, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and more will help the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame celebrate its 25th anniversary with two star-studded Madison Square Garden concerts in October.
The shows - to be curated by Tom Hanks, Rolling Stone founder Jann Wenner, director Cameron Crowe, The Band's Robbie Robertson and others - will tell the history of rock and roll, with each of the artists and their special guests tackling a different segment.
"These once-in-a-lifetime concerts are designed to celebrate the artists and their music," Wenner said in a statement.
The Oct. 29 concert will feature Springsteen, Simon and Garfunkel, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Friends, and Stevie Wonder. The Oct. 30 concert will include U2, Franklin, Metallica and Eric Clapton.
Madison Square Garden is owned by Cablevision, which also owns Newsday.
All of those performers are Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, an elite group of artists who become eligible for induction 25 years after their first release.
Tickets go on sale to American Express card members at 9 a.m. July 27 through Ticketmaster. The public sale begins at 9 a.m. Aug. 3. VIP packages range from $750 to $100,000 with proceeds going to an endowment for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation and museum in Cleveland.

Bruce Springsteen [ tickets ] and The E Street Band have added another two nights to the "Workin' on a Dream" tour and revealed plans to perform the 1975 album "Born to Run" in its entirety at a Chicago show.
Since last check, Springsteen and crew have tacked another two-night stand Oct. 19-20 in Philadelphia onto the itinerary, bringing the concert count in the City of Brotherly Love to four. (The band also is scheduled to perform in Philly Oct. 13-14.) The full itinerary, which spans four months, is listed below. Tickets go on sale for the newly announced Philadelphia shows go on sale Thursday (7/30) via comcasttix.com.
Meanwhile, Chicago newspapers have reported that the Sept. 20 concert in Chicago will feature a performance of the classic 1975 album "Born to Run" in its entirety, along with songs from Springsteen's extensive career. Besides the hit title track, "Born to Run" includes concert favorites like "Jungleland," "Thunder Road" and "She's the One."
Tickets for the Chicago performance go on sale Saturday (8/1) via Ticketmaster. (LiveDaily is an operating unit of Ticketmaster Entertainment, which also owns Ticketmaster.)
"Working on a Dream," Springsteen's 16th studio set, hit shelves in January and follows his platinum-certified 2007 release, "Magic." The new record debuted at No. 1, becoming the ninth chart-topping album of his 40-year career. Among the 13 tracks is the bonus track "The Wrestler," the theme song for the 2008 film of the same name, for which The Boss won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
Last week, Springsteen and many other iconic musicians revealed plans to participate in a two-night event Oct. 29-30 at New York City's Madison Square Garden to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Since last check, Springsteen and crew have tacked another two-night stand Oct. 19-20 in Philadelphia onto the itinerary, bringing the concert count in the City of Brotherly Love to four. (The band also is scheduled to perform in Philly Oct. 13-14.) The full itinerary, which spans four months, is listed below. Tickets go on sale for the newly announced Philadelphia shows go on sale Thursday (7/30) via comcasttix.com.
Meanwhile, Chicago newspapers have reported that the Sept. 20 concert in Chicago will feature a performance of the classic 1975 album "Born to Run" in its entirety, along with songs from Springsteen's extensive career. Besides the hit title track, "Born to Run" includes concert favorites like "Jungleland," "Thunder Road" and "She's the One."

"Working on a Dream," Springsteen's 16th studio set, hit shelves in January and follows his platinum-certified 2007 release, "Magic." The new record debuted at No. 1, becoming the ninth chart-topping album of his 40-year career. Among the 13 tracks is the bonus track "The Wrestler," the theme song for the 2008 film of the same name, for which The Boss won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
Last week, Springsteen and many other iconic musicians revealed plans to participate in a two-night event Oct. 29-30 at New York City's Madison Square Garden to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Each night will feature a different lineup, with acts like U2, Simon & Garfunkel, Metallica, Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton and Aretha Franklin scheduled to perform.
