My first Bruce and the band experience this Wed in Philly.... I've seen Bruce by himself a few times but never with the E Street band, should be a nice experience
It will be. I have only seen Bruce and the E street band twice and it is amazing. I always liked alot of Bruce's songs, but just never "got it" with his music and the obsession from fans but after seeing the Magic tour I finally got it. I feel in alot of ways that this last show I saw was even better although I didn't recognize nearly as many songs.Luckily a best friend of mine was a die hard Bruce fan and sitting right next to me.
I have never seen Bruce solo. Tried to get tix for "Devils and dust tour" but in Dallas each person could only buy 2 tickets and there was a big mix up and such. My review is about 3 or 4 post back of the houston show. Have fun at your show.

Notes: Bruce was a man of many hats tonight—besides the cowboy hat for "Outlaw Pete" there was a white fedora for "Tenth Avenue"—but even more notable was the number of covers: five out of a 25-song set. There was the now-standard sign collection song, "Raise Your Hand," and the encore-opening "Hard Times," of course. And then two requests. First: "They think they're gonna stump the band—but this is the greatest bar band in the land, and if they don't think we know 96 fuckin' Tears..." Yep, spotlight on the keys for ? and the Mysterians' "96 Tears," followed by a bit more common cover (but no less powerful for it), the E Street Band's take on Jimmy Cliff's "Trapped," also a tour premiere.
Bruce wasn't done with the signs yet—a few songs later, after "The Wrestler," he started looking through the crowd for one he'd seen earlier. And there it was: "Alanta's STEENagers deserve Jungleland." They got it, too, after Bruce talked a bit about meeting some young'uns in Freehold who said they had never seen the E Street Band, leading to their current mission. Speaking of teenagers, Jay Weinberg got another one under his belt tonight, not only revisiting the songs he played Friday night in Hartford, but also pounding away on "Land of Hope and Dreams" for the first time—a fabulous job on this one.
Still no Patti—Bruce dedicated "Kingdom of Days" to her once again, and he also gave a shout-out to producer Brendan O'Brien, whose home base is here and who was in the crowd. Bruce was feeling good, feeding off the loud, boisterous crowd, who'd been into it all night, and he had one more treat for them after "American Land." "It ain't over!" And then came that fifth and final cover, the tour's first "Detroit Medley," with Professor Roy Bittan going nuts on the piano, driving the crowd wild and closing the Atlanta show in style.

Hell yes they're rocking...i was at the spectrum show last night and it was crazy...Jay Weinberg was perfect on the drums...he adds that little extra edge to the band when he plays..i think he'll do just fine over in Europe...
Is Max not playing drums for some reason or is Jay just doing some additional drums on songs? Sorry for the dumb question. Fairly new to Bruce's live shows and knowing info on band members.

thank you for the info. I appreciate it. Sucks to hear about Max's problem with his hands; must be extremely painful. Seems like drummers have this problem or carpel tunel (sorry for the misspelling). My cousin has been playing drums since 3rd grade (and had to have surgery for it about 5 years ago).
I didn't attend because of financial restraints and because I already have tickets to EV and Wilco but I missed OUT! The boss blew the place apart!!! LONDON CALLING VIDEO

Max said he would be available for tapings of Conon O'Brien's move to Late Night replacing Jay Leno. Those tapings start next month while the band would be in Europe.

Great show on Wednesday in Philly.. an amazing experience, except for the asshole women who kept telling me to sit down.... fuck em I stood all night
i heard some negative things about the Wed. night show...i've got a buddy who's 47th show was Wed. night and he said it was one of the worst he's ever been to...aparantley the sign requests weren't the greatest and it really brought down the tempo of the show..

wed nights show had gotten rave reviews from what i had read,
including the added extra mentions on the backstreets news page.
this sign was one of the more elaborate, using 6 or 7 people in the crowd.
i guess this just proves with a catalogue so massive its hard to satisfy 100 % of any given population on any given night,..
I personally wouldve died to go to either Philly Spectrum show.
Props to those that were able to attend this historic and momentous occasion.
In other news,
Nice coverage on http://www.backstreets.com/news.html,
about Bruce finding , and then going to , his Mom during " Hungry Heart " at least nights show. Very special.

"I don't want to be sacrilegious," said an out-of-towner after the show, "But that crowd was better than Philly." And shucks, right here in Backstreets' backyard. Color us proud. Color us impressed. Color us all the moreso after such a middling start. An inspired turnaround, an inspiring show.

I'm so fucking pumped to see the boss and the band at the old barn tomorrow. Should be a good time. I sooooooo hope they play thunder road. I got a gut feeling this will be a very good show like 3-4 hours of bruce. My seats suck so that's kind a downer but oh well. Ill enjoy the band and a night off from work
