my local Michaels does a good job....look for their 50-70% off framing coupons!
with 50-70% off, what are you paying? :?

I do mine with american frame....usually $65-75 apiece.

the pic doesn't do it justice...the brown edge in the poster is dead-on with the brown matte

i think I paid around $100-$115 for this one

Wow...great job. What did you use for the PJ20 logo in the middle? And I assume that the top matting was cut so the tickets rest on the bottom mat?
Thanks, I bought a mat cutter a little while ago and these two are the 4th & 5th prints I've matted. I'm planning to "upgrade" the rest to also be matted.

The PJ20 logo is a sticker that was in the envelope with my 10C tickets (along with the Vault1 cd, etc.). I was going to use the PJ20 patch available in Goods but this looked better. Yes, the tickets are adhered to the bottom mat.

good job on the framing, looks like a front row ticket too?

It's been known for years in the industry, but for some reason attorney generals in various states are slow to research because of the time involved. The NYS Attorney General just researched it and punished them, but they'll still do this in the other 49 states.

I'll put it this way, if someone triples the price of something, then gives you a 60% discount, are you saving anything?

...just throwing this in the mix.

My part timer in my frame shop used to work at M's. They instructed her to put ATG tape (double sided tape) on the back side of the matting where the opening in the matting is, and then adhese the mat to the FACE of the poster. This destroys any value, since it puts permanent adhesive on the face of the poster. Anyway, all I'm saying is consider a local, non big-box framer. They typically don't destroy prints when framing them, and don't scam people, as you can read above Attorney General's report.

Michaels still offer that 50% off specials here in Canada as well. Huge banners outside their stores with 50% off frame jobs. It's BS!! I've found regular priced no sale frame jobs @ local ma/pa shops for much cheaper (product & service). They trick you cause any Joe would say off the bat "oh shit, save 50% off frames, let's get our frame jobs there, dear!". Cause of this "special" deal they think they are getting, they don't need to waste their time and check other frame stores. They need to start taking down those banners @ all Michaels Frame Shops in the country & abroad. It is false advertising.

  • some quick snaps of a few of my prints etc currently hanging around the house. Need to find more walls for more as I had more framed but ran out of walls. lol.

The PJ20 Hampton print is the limited of 200 glow in the dark version signed by Hampton at PJ20. I also got the ltd Klausen print at the show and the Ames one too, along with the mookie and Brian Methe tenclub prints. Also shown are my 3 interchangeable Vinyl frames.

The bridge school is the signed AP version and the last picture breaks the PJ rule but it's such a cool print I had to get it from Justin Hampton's stand at PJ20. It's a signed AP number 14 of 15.

Does the wife mind having all these PJ prints around the house?... do I care? Naaaa

I addition to my other framed prints on the previous page, I just took some pics of some of my others that I framed to so you guys and girls, although I can't find room to put them let alone the ones still in tubes. Apart from the Roma, Bridge School and Ed solo prints all my others in my collection are shows I've attended, some aren't shown though as didn't like them enough to have on show so they live in tubes.

Also is my Mike setlist caught from front row of Wembley arena on 30th June? 2000, I think if i remember.

Last picture shows some print that are property of a good friend of mine which I've just framed for him which he hasn't seen yet, including the very nice "27 Club" Hampton, Emek etc AP of only 6, it glows in the dark too.

    hope you like

I got back from vancouver with that god-awful wolfman/lamb boy thing and thought "I hate this poster."

so, I found someone on the board who wanted it and bought the '09 in its place. same band, same date, same city. It can still be a rememberance for me.

I've had the same feelings about the vancouver poster and have been thinking about buying the Edmonton poster as a sort of surrogate for that one to frame & hang.

Pardon my lack of knowledge when framing...how to you get the print to stay flat against the backing and avoid it from slightly bulging towards the glass in the middle?

It's called drymounting. It is similar to having the poster glued to the foamboard. Not good if you are concerned about value since it's permanent, and the next buyer may not want it attached, but if its just for you, then it would be something to consider. :)

  • imalive, Thanks for the tour. :)
You have the key for success in displaying a multitude of different looking posters. Keeping something the same, such as the frame style and/or color plus hanging every thing at the same height.
It really looks great and you're blessed with such a huge media room. It looks like you still have room for more. I've done something similar with mine.
I think I have the same TV, a 55" Samsun LED, it's hard to tear myself away from that thing!

I got back from vancouver with that god-awful wolfman/lamb boy thing and thought "I hate this poster."

so, I found someone on the board who wanted it and bought the '09 in its place. same band, same date, same city. It can still be a rememberance for me.

I now have 26 framed posters in one, rather large room.

Nice, I really like this poster and was thinking of buying it from Scratch & Dent
