I’m sure this has been mentioned already haven’t read back but Springsteen handled this the best.  Show up with a GA ticket between 1pm-5pm and get a numbered wristband.  Maybe 1000 people show up for a wristband sometimes less depending on the city.  Everyone with a wristband comes back at 6pm and they draw one number let’s say it’s 257 now they’re the first person in.  Then everyone else files in numerically after that.  Simple.
I'm torn on this system. I feel that with this system there are some people who will never win that GA lottery and have a chance to get on rail. With our system everyone has the chance to get on rail if they can put in a bit of time and effort. So, if someone really wants it and can organize themselves to try it at least once, they have a chance. With that lottery they may never get the chance.

Last year at Fenway I had friends who experienced the rail. They really wanted it at least once. They camped out and got to experience the rail. They said it was fun. They weren't sure if they would do it again, but were really happy they got to experience it at least once. With a GA lottery their number may never come up.

That’s what gets me M. There’s people who don’t queue now and think it’s dumb, apparently think being on the rail is a waste of time and that the sound sucks, but they are so bothered by people who do it that they want to blow up the entire thing and make it a lottery that they might never win and still will never get to experience rail. Just to take the experience away from people who do it now or want to do it some day.

Wait, people are sleeping outside the arena for multiple nights now?

Haha, yeah.  Things need to change.

Is it newer fans (the last few years) up front waiting in line for all of these shows? I can imagine folks who’ve been seeing them for years would be waiting in line for a band 15+ years past their prime… And if they are older, 40-50 year olds creating groups to game the system  every night to be up front is just sad and strange obsessive behavior. New flash- Ed doesn’t want to be your friend.
Not new fans based on what I’ve seen.

I'm going to go even further and share a story I had recently heard, which frankly goes against my better judgment, but I will anyway. Those fans who have spent time invested on the F2F exchange looking for tickets this current leg or several past legs since its' inception will attest to the incredibly challenging experience it's been this leg to secure tickets as compared to years past. This isn't a discussion about supply vs demand, amount of shows played, etc. more so a general understanding whereas in 2022 many more fans successfully lined up various timed drops or quick refreshes to attain tickets currently in 2025 prized reserved and GA tickets are immediately popping on scalper sites moments after being listed. What's been discovered, through fact based discussions and fairly blatant evidence, is that in addition to any scalpers currently hoarding inventory a member of the 10C community, one who is well known on the forum, one who regularly attends shows, one who has been there on the F2F exchange along with the rest of us has some unique advantages: said fan saw the chance to profit and went about to acquire a broker's license in addition to utilizing a bot to secure PJ tickets off F2F in order to immediately direct them onto scalper sites. It's not up for debate: the evidence was gathered by good, intelligent people and passed onto 10C and band management. This is first come first serve, this is capitalism, this is whatever you want to call it and I'm not going to dispute your take and input.

No no, we need to be outraged that a couple dozen people like lining up for GA not the fact that there’s someone in the community scalping tickets

Do you not think the same people getting ga and up front is selfish? It’s hoarding a product for themselves when many people would like the opportunity once or twice especially for their home town shows.  No matter how they go about getting there it’s just selfish greed. Would it kill these people to be 3 or 4 people back?

I think a GA pit lottery 'a la Springsteen would be a good way to go.

Or, go back to reserved front floor with a lottery for the first 2 rows (says the dude with the 5-digit member number)

What happens if someone gets the first number, but the person they are with gets the last number - it splits between them. Does their partner get to cut the line, or does the other person have to go to the back? I have never done a pit lottery for any show - so genuinely interested.

All of the overwrought explanations and attempted defenses are undermined by the fact that, again, the Ten Club themselves has had to publicly chastise you and say cut the shit

I have never done a pit lottery. How does it work if you are with a group of people and all want to hang out together in the pit and you get different numbers for lineup. Do two people share one number if they are a couple? or if they are with three of their kids, etc. Does that count as cutting in line if they want to be with their spouse, etc. Just wondering how that works.

Every person in your group has to show up together initially to get a wristband.  The wristbands are numbered

The posts where people are defending the current system with the scenario about new fans getting a chance to be on the rail are kind of silly.  🤪 The current system isn’t about first timers getting on the rail… if it really was about that then no one would have harassed the guy who was first on line yesterday.  They would have been celebrating him and cheering how great it was that a first timer was at the head of the line.   Just be honest and say the truth… you want to keep the current system because it benefits you and your friends.

That is what I thought but what happens if the party gets split up - someone gets the first number, but others in their group get the last number?

Your numbers would be sequential since you all got them at the same time so you'd be lined up together

In very unreasonable to expect a big group to hang together at a PJ concert unless you’re willing to hang in back or buy seats together. I just question if you’re there for the music or if it’s something else entirely

Not sure how Springsteen does it, but perhaps they give out wristbands with sequential numbers.....just a guess.

As mentioned earlier, people queue up at a normal, reasonable time during the day.  People get wristbands from 1-500 or whatever.  You are with the people you are attending with.  Then a random number is drawn for the "start" of the line.  Say it is 156.  156 becomes the first in line.  It would go from 156-500, then 1-155.  Parties would stay together, unless everyone you are with is 150-155 and you are 156.  Then it's decision time, ha.

I would love to be on rail, and this system would possibly compel me to attend shows again for GA.

I like my kids and family.  I can't/dont want to waste life camping out in the streets for 2 nights.  I did it once before and it was not that safe either.  I also did not feel overly welcome, and by the time the show started, I was at like 50% energy from the whole ordeal.  I remember feeling pretty dehydrated too.

That I get. But say I am with 5 people are our numbers are 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 20 gets called as the first number. Where in line do 15-19 go who are there with #20.

This very specific scenario is quite the Sophie's Choice for ol' number 20! The answer, though is they are the end of the wristband line.

This whole discussion would stop if they brought back the front row lottery. I am sure the rail hogs would still find a way to satisfy their thirst of being up front all the time but maybe every so often the band would see someone new there who is equally deserving of the ecstasy even if they may not have spent an entire day in a tent in front of the venue. It may smell better up front too  How boring is it too to see the same freaking faces in every tour video? :|
At every show so far this tour there have been people camping who were either doing their first show ever or first GA. Out of the 40 or so people on the rail any given night the regulars only make up a subset.

See, to me the thing is there shouldn't be "regulars" at the rail. It should be new people every night.
