  • The results of this past election is nothing short of a massive political realignment. The Left needs to take a long hard look at themselves and do some self reflecting. They went from the party of tolerance to the party of intolerance. From peace and love to War hawks.
I'm ok with not tolerating racism and bigotry.
Who was racist? If you say Trump why did he gain in the Latino vote and didn't lose any of the black vote? Also Dearborn Michigan which has a high population if not the highest of Muslims voted Red and flipped the state. Sounds like someone has been misinformed. Stop listening to MSNBC. Take your blinders off.
The Latinos usually side w the religious vote and somehow the Repubs are awarded that grandeur.

Today it was suggested that someone I know should stop believing all the MSM because all they do is lie and divide. Mentioned that they should look at different sources. When questioned about the sources, the reply was Dan Bongino, ZeroHedge, Tim Pool and NY Post. That is the better source of information and the truth more so than Reuters, AP, NPR. I mean, un-fucking-believable how brainwashed these people are. Sensationalized opinions are news and news sources are lies and divisive? I'm all for diverse news sources because I want information that isn't presented with an angle unless it's an opinion piece, but it seems people are now following any schmuck with a podcast, TikTok or X account who don't actually fact check (oooh, the bad thing liberals do) or confirm their stories' sources. Yikes!
I would suggest Jimmy Dore, Breaking points, Rogan & Due Dissidence.

So you think minorities can’t be racist? And does any amount of minority vote Trump got magically eliminate things he’s said and done?

Other than points 1 and 2 (to a limited extent), there is not one point in here that should be subject to legislation or the political process.  These are all social issues and for the gov't to put their thumb on any of them is violation of personal freedoms.

I am neither leftist or screeching.  I just have this strange habit of critical thinking.  None of these make sense as a platform for a political party.  But if you can think of a law that ensures that "academics and non profit staffers do not occupy a unique position of virtue" without violating the Constitution, I'd love to hear it.
Your reading comprehension skills remain undefeated
Is this your way of not being able to defend what you posted?  Can you tell me how gov't should "reform" in order to ensure that "Politeness is a virtue but obsessive language policing alienates normal people and degrades the quality of thinking".  Explain that law to me please.  It can also be an executive order I suppose.  But I'm sure you thought this through before posting.

They've been responding to me and while we disagree, it's been civil. More so than the majority of previous trolls who came on here with shit and run statements. I welcome more voices like this on here because that's how it used to be. It's sucked on this forum for several years because all the racist xenophobes just kept coming on here to bait people until being banned.
    It's a hopeless situation...

If only one of the candidates had a proposal to help 1st time home buyers.
Many people, myself included, didn't like that plan. I don't think handing out 25k is the solution. And being given 25k to buy a 500k house at 8% is nothing compared to buying that same house for 300k n at 3.25% 5 years ago.
Did trump have a better plan to address this issue?

Edit: did he have ANY plan for the economy besides tariffs?
    Nope.

And this isn't the trump thread so I don't know why that keeps being the response. We're not talking about trump, we're talking about issues. And that's one of the reasons why Kamala lost, they focused more on trump than policy.

I completely agree with HFD when he said "looking back, I feel like dem's biggest mistakes in 2016 and 2024 were running on character instead of hard policy. No one seems to care if the president is a POS, as long as he gets some shit done that they deem important. "

The guy needs to change number 5 - biological sex is not a social construct, however gender is. So, he should say that race and gender are social constructs. In anthropology this is known as ascribed status vs achieved status. Ascribed statuses are what you are born with and can't be changed. However, achieved statuses can be. While we can't change our sex, we can change our gender. That is why surgeries are no longer called sex changes, but gender reassignments. Once someone has taken on the role of the gender they choose to achieve, they should be able to access the resources available to that gender as society and culture define the gender they choose (which varies cross culturally).

He isn't saying anything about gender so sounds like that's on the table, flowing from the principle

Neither a party platform nor framework for legislation. Yeesh.
What you posted literally says "Common Sense Democrats to reform governance".  I guess you didn't read what you posted.  That's the only plausible excuse at this point and it would mean that you still haven't read it.

What exactly did he say and do? Just becasue you got offended by a comment he said doesn't mean someone of color did. The comments he made obviously didn't effect his status with minorities as they showed up for him in record numbers.

Seen PJ 50x (50th show this year at Wrigley 2). Long time Club member. I bounce in and out every once in a while. I am not MAGA. I don't have to like every waking thing about a candidate. No wars, no new taxes, Fuck BIG Pharma. They are also poisoning our food with all the shit and dyes companies like Kellogg dump in them. Think with a critical mind.

It's not the Harris thread either. I thought we were talking about the election results here.

This election didn't happen in a vacuum, people had two choices.

Of the two choices, one of them had a better plan for the economy... I don't doubt that people voted for him for economic reasons, but those people are poorly informed about the past, the present, and what each candidate offered for the future.

Blame democrats' messaging all you want*, but if people refuse to come out of their information bubble, IDK how you expect them to be reached.

(*i don't disagree, dem's messaging was a part of the problem, but it was by no means the only reason they lost)

Which Biden tax increase did you hate the most?   Which one that Harris was suggesting was most concerning?

Which war that Biden started is the worst one?

i keep hearing about the dem messaging but how do they get that messaging to the people they need to hear it?  most of this country receive their information from right wing sources whether they know it or not.  people that watch fox and spend their time on social media aren't going to see dem messaging.  in a blind survey 80+% preferred her policies.  but again policy doesn't matter because a lot of this country is just pissed off and want a show.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
