Yeah the "Tampon Tim" thing is interesting. The magats are spinning it as him requiring tampons be placed in boys restrooms in schools for the trans people. Totally untrue...the bill required no such thing. It required feminine products be made available to whomever needed them in schools.
Someone from MN had mentioned that some schools DID place those items in certain boys restrooms/locker rooms only because sometimes opposing teams (female) would use those locker rooms, etc., when visiting the school to play the local team.
A good example of how morons just jump to conclusions without exploring the topic.
Of all the people here, you love the idea of tampons in boys restrooms. Be honest with yourselves. On your Christmas list for left radicals, you’re asking Santa for tampons 1st or 2nd.
of course you would not know this, but the reason SOME, not ALL of the boys restrooms had tampon machines is because some of those restrooms were used as locker/changing rooms for female teams from other schools to use during sporting events, particularly tournaments when there were many women's teams there. but your news sources would never tell you that.

R's can't have it both ways. She was once painted as a ruthless AG that just locked everyone up and threw away the key. Now she's a "far left".
Also, the "anti-semitic part of the party" is laughable.
Minnesota was never in jeopardy.
Then Walz was probably the worst choice on the list for VP.
I think the reality is that the right is disappointed it isn't Shapiro because he would be an easier target for them. As a Minnesotan, I was hoping it wouldn't be Walz to keep him here, but he's a decent person who's dedicated his life to serving (military, teacher, politics) and isn't an elite. Shapiro has an elite edge to him that I don't think people would identify with as much here in the Midwest. Walz has the backing of unions and has shown he's for giving people of all backgrounds access to services to help promote equity across the board. What type of person is against giving women a right to choose, providing food for all children in need, lower med prices, infrastructure improvements and background checks for gun owners? Apparently you are.
You forgot how Waltz let the local community express their frustrations for that bust-out George Floyd by not stopping the burning and looting sooner w/ the National Guard in Minneapolis….Lori Lightfoot used the same reasoning in Shicago when the Guard was offered and passed and let that shitty burn. Keep on voting Democrat, there will be nothing left for the tax payer….This DNC in Shitcago is going to be something
Have you been to Chicago? It’s a nice city.
If you only knew…. Talk to me next week, we’ll see how nice it is…I hope the Police “stand down” and let the “peaceful protesters” do what they do…
They things will be fine. Pretty cynical to think otherwise

I heard, and many people are saying, that because Governor Walz went to work for Kamala, that he’s been neutered and is in the process of transitioning. Kamala can only work with women under her and Tim is giving up his gender for power. It’s all so she can run in 8 years so that we have 16 years of female POTUSes and men will have to wear pink and be subservient to the master gender. There will no longer be men’s restrooms or sports. All gone.

Vice-presidential nominees typically receive a ratings bump after their party's convention, but Sen. JD Vance is bucking the tradition.
On the heels of last week's Republican National Convention, the Ohio senator is the least-liked vice-presidential candidate since 1980, CNN found in a polling analysis. It noted the data applied to nonincumbents.
Since 2000, vice-presidential nominees typically have had a net-positive rating immediately following the convention, at plus 19 points. Vance, however, is polling at minus 6 points just one week after accepting the vice-presidential nomination and officially embarking on the campaign trail, the network found.
The freshman lawmaker's lower-than-normal approval ratings are not an anomaly, as Vance has long polled behind other Republicans.

Vance heavily underperformed in his 2022 Ohio Senate race, at least compared with how other Republicans performed in the state that year. Vance defeated his opponent, then-Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan, by only 6 percentage points. In comparison, Republican Gov. Mike DeWine crushed his Democratic opponent, former Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley, by 25 percentage points in that same cycle.
"The JD Vance pick makes no sense from a statistical polling perspective," Harry Enten, a CNN political-data reporter, said.
Vice President Kamala Harris' team sent out a press release gloating about the numbers.
"We'd like to be the first to congratulate JD Vance on making history as the least popular VP pick, well…ever," it said.

The press release went on to list some of Vance's policies, with the first one being his previous support for a nationwide abortion ban.
The Atlantic's Tim Alberta tweeted Monday that ever since President Joe Biden ended his reelection campaign and endorsed Harris to become the Democratic presidential nominee, some members of Trumpworld have questioned whether Vance remains a wise running mate. President Donald Trump faltered with suburban voters in 2020, and Vance's selection was widely seen as an appeal to base voters instead of one geared toward attracting more swing voters.
There's also evidence that Republicans will closely monitor polling over the next two weeks beyond Vance's low likability ratings, as a Trump pollster said Harris could get a numbers bump following her expected ascent to the top of the Democratic ticket.
You have to wonder if his previous comments about tRump are causing the bad approval ratings. Magats are an odd group...remember they would boo tRump for suggesting people should get the covid vaccine and/or wear a mask.
Or maybe it's just because he's an asshole? The craven soullessness he displays is off-putting for most non-psychopaths. T---p overcomes this via his entertainment value (I guess), but Vance, Cruz, Stefanik et al lack that rubbernecking appeal and thus don't have the same appeal.
All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

Where are you getting that information? That doesn’t make sense because in all the schools I’ve worked at I’ve never heard of boys lockerooms being opened to female students for games. I’m not saying it never happens, but it’s got to be pretty rare and a huge liability. Male students and faculty may not be aware and walk in. It’s just not something most schools I think would do. So I tried looking it up. I couldn’t find one mention of it. Instead, I keep seeing language like this in nearly every article: ”The law’s text also says the products must be available to “all menstruating students in restrooms regularly used by students in grades 4 to 12, according to a plan developed by the school district.” That would include both boys, girls and gender-neutral bathrooms.” https://www.wcnc.com/article/news/verify/government-verify/tim-walz-minnesota-public-schools-bathrooms-tampons-period-products-law-tampontim-fact-check/536-0892fdf5-6030-41ee-9168-1e9141aa7a86# You find find a link to the bill in the article. For independent voters who barely follow politics? They are going to vote for the thug insulting a man by insulting women?
they’d think the maga man was weird and wouldn’t vote for him.
do you normally put down people in real life, at your job, out shopping, family functions, by insulting with derogatory comparisons to menstrual products? How’s that working out?

You’re emotional. Trump offends you. You can’t handle mean tweets. Some people just don’t like inflation, high interest rates, high gas prices open borders, lack of a foreign policy. I get it when some people are unsatisfied with the whole system, left, right, up, down, whatever you want to call it. I myself feel that way about the way some things work in society and politics in general.
What I don't get is the throw-a-tantrum and elect some crazy guys to high offices that are not really interested in doing anything constructive to help move things in a better direction. Why would someone want that?
Same thing with people who get on sites like this- forums that are set up to have useful and informative discussions about politics and current events, but then they simply use that opportunity to play some kind of stupid game. Why is that?
Or this: Why give your time and energy to those people who habitually just make a joke of the whole thing ? What is accomplished by that? Right, nothing.

Sure, and no one denies that. Although I don’t believe all 28 require them in boys bathrooms, just that they are available. Which makes much more sense. The criticism of this bill is that the law specifies must be available in all restrooms regularly used by students. No one argues products being available at the counselors or nurses office. But loading them up in 4th grade boys bathrooms does seem unnecessary. And claiming it’s for girl athletes when the girls bathrooms are not big enough to host events seems to me like admitting it’s a dumb idea to just place them in all bathrooms when you rationalize it with something that isn’t accurate.
No one wants to deny students hygiene products, trans or not. Making them available in all restrooms 4th and up though is a different story.

Instead, I keep seeing language like this in nearly every article: ”The law’s text also says the products must be available to “all menstruating students in restrooms regularly used by students in grades 4 to 12, according to a plan developed by the school district.” That would include both boys, girls and gender-neutral bathrooms.” https://www.wcnc.com/article/news/verify/government-verify/tim-walz-minnesota-public-schools-bathrooms-tampons-period-products-law-tampontim-fact-check/536-0892fdf5-6030-41ee-9168-1e9141aa7a86#
You find find a link to the bill in the article. No mention of sports. It was clearly aimed at transgender students, not athletes in a tournament, and all bathrooms, not some, and as early as 4th grade.
Making them available in all restrooms 4th and up though is a different story.
tell me, teach. what should transboys do if/when gender neutral bathroom is in use or empty of said products?
further, would encourage searching for the text of the bill and rely on that.

Here is the article I was referencing...I don't see mention of the use of a locker room by opposing teams so I must have seen that somewhere else but I have certainly experienced that with my own kids. Most middle schools aren't going to have opposing team locker rooms...they are going to share them.

As governor of Minnesota, one of Tim Walz's accomplishments was signing a 2023 education law that included a mandate for schools to provide free menstrual supplies to students in grades 4 through 12.
That mandate is drawing fresh attention as the Trump campaign seeks to criticize Walz for the law, claiming it requires school districts to supply tampons and pads to both female and male bathrooms due to transgender boys who may menstruate. On social media, the hashtag #TamponTim began trending on August 6, the day Walz was named as Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate for the Democratic presidential ticket.
"As a woman there is no greater threat to a woman's health than leaders ... who support putting tampons in men's bathrooms in public schools," Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told Fox News on Tuesday.
In a statement emailed to CBS MoneyWatch, Leavitt claimed that Walz "has spent his governorship trying to reshape Minnesota in the image of the Golden State." She added, "Tampon Tim put tampons in boys' bathrooms, wants men to play in women's sports, and supports gender transitions for minors."
The Minnesota law, however, doesn't specify in which bathrooms the menstrual supplies must be located; instead, it requires school districts to develop plans to ensure all students who menstruate can access free tampons and pads, Lacey Gero, director of government relations at the advocacy group Alliance for Period Supplies, told CBS MoneyWatch. Her group advocates for free tampons and pads in schools, prisons and other institutions and eliminating the so-called tampon tax.

Gov. Tim Walz made tampons free in Minnesota schools. Here's why it's drawing Trump's ire.
