Cynicism (and certain politicians and media) make you think EVERYONE in DC is corrupt. Thats not true. There are hard working and good people there that believe in the idea of democracy. The problem is we don’t hold politicians and the system to account. Bringing in a new asshole doesn’t fix things. Voting for good people do. Blowing the system up doesn’t fix it either.

But what aggravates people is, the system moves slowly. I could quote a PJ lyric but it’s cringe. Change happens slowly. Sorry that’s the way it is.
The system is broken.  What government institution do you have faith in? For me, not a single one I can think of. Career bureaucrats and career politicians have sold us all out for the good of themselves and their hidden (until recently) agendas. We are lied to everyday. Good people get punished by the system.

A new tariff on all imports combined with a concerted effort to deport  much needed laborers from an already depleted workforce will surely bring prices down and ease inflation, how could they not? What a well thought out plan.
Not sure of your position, but a vast majority of Americans are against illegal immigration. Yes, we are in a bad spot with inflation, thanks to Harris/Biden.  Remember the great Biden/Harris Inflation Reduction Act? Once again, we were all lied to and deceived.

vote for trump tho. he will drain the swamp for sure given a 2nd opportunity.
Trump will try given the chance. The Swamp is powerful.  Funny how no one wants to talk about Harris/Biden on this Harris/Biden thread. They always revert back to Trump.

Trump will drain the swamp, and fill it with different swamp water. I don’t get how you can’t see that.

Well for one thing, there’s like 6 fucking threads about the election, so it gets spread around. Two, galaxy brains keep rolling in with bad faith discussion, calling people leftist/communist/liberal sheep, oblivious to the fact that they are just projecting the same thing but from the right.

TBH, there are only a handful of posters in these threads that truly want to engage in good faith discussion. Yeah, it doesn’t help when people just post cringe Facebook shit and boomer name calling like Donald Dump and the orange Cheeto, or something dumb. But I’m also not seeing conservative posters coming with their A game either.

But also, there are 2 candidates running, obviously discussion of one is going to bring up the other because people want to contrast, so it’s dumb to point out he comes up in discussion. Of course he will, he’s the other candidate.

So Harris is proposing a $10k first time homebuyer credit (which we have seen a few times) and $25k down-payment assistance which is likely something that will be paid back by the user.

The credit is great and anything the government can do to boost supply is incredibly important, but I'm not sold on the assistance aspect.

Tell me the good and bad about her policies! Maybe don’t use the word banning? These seem good on the surface but I’m sure it’s not all gravies.
    Giving away more $....

Honestly, there is not enough in that article to know if these are good ideas or bad ideas.  Or even just nice ideas but how they are paid for are bad ideas or good ideas.

I dislike the idea of giving $25,000 to people to buy homes....but prove to me it's good and works out in the end for more than just people taking $.

I'm not really a fan of child tax credits at all, but can be convinced of it if shown the why behind the decision, and most seem for it, so might be some ignorance on my part.

The "price-gouging" item is either the best or worst idea.  Government manipulating the market so directly is a touchy place to be.
So basically you prefer tax cuts for corporations and billionaires instead of helping regular folks.  I just don’t understand the republican ideals.  Limited socialism isn’t evil. Yes I said it
Oh look another liberal overreaction in AMT...Shocking!!!
so explain to me your reasoning against helping people buy their 1st home.   why are you opposed?
One reason that you may or may not understand: +$35 trillion in national debt. Take a guess at the annual interest payment on that. Take a guess at the percentage of annual tax revenue that goes to paying the interest on that debt.
Where were you when Repubs passed the $1.7 trillion tax bill and POOTWH signed it? Sure, deficits matter but only when Dems occupy the Oval.
I am all for tax cuts. Most Americans pay too much in taxes. The problem with the debt and deficit is that government, no matter the political party, spends too much and wastes incredible amounts of taxpayer money.  DC swamp is corrupt to the core.  This is the big reason the DC establishment will go to no end to get rid of Trump. He is/was against the DC swamp. Harris/Biden are perfect examples of the swamp.

    Where’s your patriotism, bud?

Ok, give us your reasons to vote for Harris. Include in your response how much better/worse the country is after four years of Harris/Biden.  Also include why she basically finished last in the 2016 Dem primary.  Also include how she became the Dem nominee without any input from the American public.
