$25K for first-time homebuyers. Yes, this will raise the overall housing market but it would help many many people realize the American dream. It's also supposed to be coupled with policies intended to encourage new home construction.

The "price gouging" stuff does float pretty close to socialism, I have to say.

Most people would use the newborn tax credit just to pay the damn hospital bill.
The american dream = $25K handouts to buy a house?   I know what you are saying re:buying a house...I do think incentivizing builders to build more "starter" homes...if done properly sounds like a good idea.  I am not certain we should be giving anyone $ to buy a house...I fear if they will maintain and will be able to keep it long term anyhow.  But having an inventory of housing at a lower price point is needed.  As well as managing the AirBnBs etc.
Is this part of it? That is absolutely something that should be happening--agreed
It mentioned it in the article....again, no specifics.

It's so so so much harder to buy a starter home than it used to be. I'm in favor of leveling the playing field a bit.

Looks like they are calling it "Down payment support" which suggests something like the loan I discussed above where it is paid back each year on the borrowers tax return.

As much as tRump and the GOP are complaining about inflation you would sure think they would jump on board. The GOP house has proposed NO legislation to fix inflation. Why?

They want to blame Biden for inflation but not give him the power to cap prices by profitable corporations? Why?
    These are great questions.

Kamala……. “Puttin’ a Cap in your Groceries!”

😂😂😂😂😂 Those evil grocers been getting away with it so long.

Took her a month to come up with that? Maybe she could answer questions why Apple has a 21% margin, but it’s ok. And grocers have a 1.6% margin and they are enemy #1.

Tell me the good and bad about her policies! Maybe don’t use the word banning? These seem good on the surface but I’m sure it’s not all gravies.
    Giving away more $....

Honestly, there is not enough in that article to know if these are good ideas or bad ideas.  Or even just nice ideas but how they are paid for are bad ideas or good ideas.

I dislike the idea of giving $25,000 to people to buy homes....but prove to me it's good and works out in the end for more than just people taking $.

I'm not really a fan of child tax credits at all, but can be convinced of it if shown the why behind the decision, and most seem for it, so might be some ignorance on my part.

The "price-gouging" item is either the best or worst idea.  Government manipulating the market so directly is a touchy place to be.
So basically you prefer tax cuts for corporations and billionaires instead of helping regular folks.  I just don’t understand the republican ideals.  Limited socialism isn’t evil. Yes I said it
Oh look another liberal overreaction in AMT...Shocking!!!

I’m quite liberal and also dislike the $25k handout. First, she will get reamed by the right for no reason. This is aimed at a specific part of the public that does not vote, and will simply raise prices $25k. And it will never pass congress next year with Manchin gone and the senate GOP majority. Since women became a major part of the work force 30 years ago, what happened to housing? It went up significantly because families had a new source of income to pay more for a house.

Harris is as fake as they come.  She has done nothing in her life that would indicate she should be POTUS.  It is laughable, not one person voted for her. She was anointed by Obama and Pelosi.

She has been the VP for over 3 years.  Not one thing has improved in those 3 years. In fact, everything has gotten so much worse.

Well, it can’t be oil production as the US just pumped more oil than any country ever. I know, reality is difficult to cope with.

She wasn’t picked because she was the best person for VP. Biden said they were picking a woman. She covered that and diversity. It’s was a pander to women and minorities. Common this time of year from Democrats. 90% of her VP staff quit, citing that she was a bully or just downright condescending and mean. 3 months ago Democratic elites were wanting to replace her on the ticket because of the lowest favorability of any VP in history.

She was tasked as “Border Czar” or finding the root cause of C America problems. Either way she failed miserably.

Keeping her quiet tells you what the DNC thinks of how she can handle herself in the spotlight. If she opens her mouth it only hurts her chances.
