My final thoughts on this election and my FINAL post in this
thread
The American people saved this Country from further decline.
Donald Trump is not the savior, he is the messenger. He still has powerful
forces against him. The Republican and
Democrat swamp have a lot to lose if Trump does follow through with his
promises.
For me, he needs to pull the curtain on Government corruption
and incompetence. He needs to expose the DOJ/FBI for their involvement in
RussiaGate and J6. He needs to hold
Fauci/NIH accountable for the lies. He needs to promote peace. He needs to stop
illegal immigration. He needs to kill DEI and the Woke mind virus of the
military. He needs to bring back the American dream for everyone. He has a lot
to do in four years.
A quick observation: for those of you that commented in this
tread, I suggest getting away for the State Media and cable news. I have said
this before, you are being lied to. Believe
it or not at your knowledge peril, Twitter is the best place to go for information.
I suggest you seek out a few people that you can trust to be truthful in various
subject matters. For instance, last night I did not watch cable news at all
until around 2am. My wife was watching it and I had so much better and more
up-to-date information from Twitter than what she was given by the so-called
news people on TV.
Finally, maybe I should start a Forum Thread for “PJ Fans That
Voted for Trump”. Look for it, maybe.
Happy days are here again….
I agree with this.
Donald Trump is very flawed, but I have hope. Maybe it's simply because he doesn't fit nicely in to the two-party swamp. Who knows, maybe that's why there were attempts on his life this year? I truly believe the powerful people are concerned by his unpredictability.
Few things here…
Trump is part of the two party system. He’s been the head of one of them for nearly a decade now and has shaped it to be exactly what he and his handlers want it to be. That rational can be put to bed for good now.
Trump is as predicable as a sunrise. Flatter him, kick him some money, you’re in his good graces. Don’t and you’re not.
As for the “powerful people.” Who do you think bankrolled his campaign? Answer… powerful people: Musk, Ellison, Koch and a slew of other billionaires. Bezos, Theil and Zuckerberg played along and contributed in their own ways as well. It’s one of the things that has always confused me about regular schlubs viewing Trump and billionaires as “champions of the people.” They could care less about anyone unless there’s a dollar to be made from them, but that’s the story of humanity.
I'm thinking along the same lines because I'm having a really hard time with the notion of living out my last years in a racist, homophobic, xenophobic, hate-filled, fascist, pro-dictatorship country that is populated by so many millions of ignorant fools.
I'm hitting you up if/when I ever go to Patagonia!
I was there two years ago I’m headed back there not Patagonia but close I have a nephew who’s a guide at a national park in that region I’m going to be looking at land to purchase and also looking at houses that are for sale! My plan is to live at least the three months of summer there and the rest of year here!
Hmm... maybe the DNC should've vetted her more when they had her speak at the 2012 National Convention or named her vice chair in her 30's. Maybe they thought they nabbed another puppet who wouldn't speak out when the party strayed from their ideals. So many of these politicians who come into power never question their powerful team again. They're becoming wealthy, they stay in power by not ruffling any feathers... And you call out the rare folks who don't go lock step with their powerful team? I'm seriously asking. I've listened to her and can't help but feel the democrats lost a good one. Once she spoke up, they absolutely tried to destroy her. That's the game plan.
uh...she went maga...they didn't "lose" anything...she drank the kool-aid/flavorite

We have also started looking for houses in Japan. Live there in the winter. Somewhere south of Tokyo.

She’s smarter than me I should of never relinquished my Chilean citizenship but I did when I became an American citizen I had the choice to keep it I didn’t ughh but it’s ok I can get it back and now that I’m semi retired I have plenty of time to get it done! Good luck, most countries have far more difficult immigration policy to navigate...
No one is going anywhere. Unless you have an excessive amount of money. Also, no country is going to open their arms to a bunch of Americans. We made our own beds…
I get really annoyed with the "I'm leaving the country" crowd. Although, if promises are kept, a lot of people will be leaving the country, but not by choice.
Why would you be annoyed by people who are considering a choice for themselves? Did someone tell you YOU should leave the country? No. Please don't do criticize people feeling desperate at a time like this. That's just not cool.
Because it's a knee jerk reaction that feeds the conservative narrative that libs can't handle it and will run and hide. Fucking fight for what's right and make it known you disapprove of things this incoming administration will most likely try to do! Look at it this way, 67+ million people also agree with you. You are not alone and there are literally millions of people ready to stand with you in support of human rights. It may seem like an uphill battle, but it is not a forgone conclusion that we give in to authoritarianism.
This notion that just cuz someone is rich means they are out of touch is bizarre. Are they living like Kardashians? No, they are still regular people doing goid work in the world. Out of touch propke don’t soend their time building skate parks for the underprivileged. And creating a foundation and working tirelessly to find a cure for a horrendous disease. And they don’t just throw money at these things. They spend TIME.
Agree that they are doing amazing things. 100%. I should have mentioned that originally. Watching the videos of Jeff and the skate parks gives me goosebumps. Seeing poor kids in a rural part of the country get an outlet is heartwarming. Ed's support of EB, West Memphis 3, etc. Mike and advocacy for Crohn's... But good works and political support are two different things. If we're discussing the old argument of "the lesser of two evils" regarding the two-party system, I don't just default to the Democrats being the better option any more. I used to... for the majority of my life. They've lost me.
They lost you for Donald fucking Trump?
How anyone can possibly have looked at this or even the last two as lesser of two evil elections is beyond me. Prior to '16---sure, yes, absolutely (I am someone who has voted for both parties before and even third party once). But when one of the options is a man who literally tried to overturn the results of the last election.......I mean, what the fuck are we talking about? Congrats on saving him from possible prison time.
How did they lose your vote this specific election? What swung your vote? Genuinely curious.

I can't argue with what you say here. Actually pretty much agree with all of it. But for me, this is no knee jerk reaction. "Fucking fight for what's right"? Sure. Been doing that for the last 55 years.

How interesting that this election has emboldened several people
who all of the sudden find AMT worthy of their time. The attack is on!
Well, enjoy your dictator, people. Sorry about the buyer's remorse you will have to suffer through.

Anyone think that Trump could have rigged/tampered the election results,
especially in "the swing states" like PA and MI? Thought crossed my mind and I was talking to my mom and she actually thinks
the same thing . She thinks the truth will come out before January that
him, Musk and the Russians/Putin tampered with the election. I wouldn't
put it past him but I'm not sure. I hope this happens but we shall see.

I'm not inclined to think so, but having said that, every accusation from him & his team has turned out to be projection, so it would track.

I think trump just won the election. However, if you are talking Russia...I'm certain they did all they could to tamper with the election.

Russia definitely tampered but I think it was more misinformation rather than rigging results.

No.
Yeah, hard no. It's legit as it has been in every election I have ever voted in. The flip side to this is that most Trump supporters still think 2020 was rigged and won't accept it. Small murmurs like the above from liberals, have a short shelf life and don't get blown up to a national level because that's not who we are. It certainly isn't something that will come up 4 years from now, but I expect to see R's ramping up voter fraud again around 2027, right before they try to pass some far right amendment that allows the current sitting president to determine who the electors in each state will be since the voting process is not secure.

They did/do a fantastic job of keeping their voters misinformed about what is actually happening. We see it all the time in these very threads. This is pretty sad stuff. I don't know how these people are able to be reached. They just avoid reality at all costs.

& some will die on the hill that democrats' messaging about one of these issues is why they lost.

We're so fucked.
Well they have never been good at messaging. I think they should have done a much better job starting from 3 years ago in explaining why inflation was happening and beating the drum that it was affecting the entire world. If they did a better job at informing people about that from the get go, at least some portion of these voters would've have rightly given them credit for mitigating it better than any other country. The media deserves TONS of blame for not doing this as well. Ultimately a lot of this comes down to education. It's no surprise that Trump loves the poorly educated. They are everyone in this country, sadly.
I'm wondering what all these dopes are gonna say in a few years when they realize the cost of their bacon is even higher than it was today. lol

I agree, democrats have a major problem with messaging, I just think it's absurd to point at it as the singular problem why they lost (Not that you were saying that).
One thing they missed big was the trans issue. Clearly it's a big one for a lot of Americans, and shouldn't have been glossed over. IDK how they could have tackled it, but ignoring it was a mistake.
Democrats fucked up bigtime, no doubt, but there was no shortage of other issues that cost them this election.

They did/do a fantastic job of keeping their voters misinformed about what is actually happening. We see it all the time in these very threads. This is pretty sad stuff. I don't know how these people are able to be reached. They just avoid reality at all costs.

We're so fucked.
I'm wondering what all these dopes are gonna say in a few years when they realize the cost of their bacon is even higher than it was today. lol
