Anyone think that Trump could have rigged/tampered the election results,
especially in "the swing states" like PA and MI? Thought crossed my mind and I was talking to my mom and she actually thinks
the same thing . She thinks the truth will come out before January that
him, Musk and the Russians/Putin tampered with the election. I wouldn't
put it past him but I'm not sure. I hope this happens but we shall see.
Russia definitely tampered but I think it was more misinformation rather than rigging results.
Unfortunately I think the right just did a better job of motivating GenZ males....maybe the dems focused too much on the females
They did/do a fantastic job of keeping their voters misinformed about what is actually happening. We see it all the time in these very threads. This is pretty sad stuff. I don't know how these people are able to be reached. They just avoid reality at all costs.
& some will die on the hill that democrats' messaging about one of these issues is why they lost.
We're so fucked.
Well they have never been good at messaging. I think they should have done a much better job starting from 3 years ago in explaining why inflation was happening and beating the drum that it was affecting the entire world. If they did a better job at informing people about that from the get go, at least some portion of these voters would've have rightly given them credit for mitigating it better than any other country. The media deserves TONS of blame for not doing this as well. Ultimately a lot of this comes down to education. It's no surprise that Trump loves the poorly educated. They are everyone in this country, sadly.
I'm wondering what all these dopes are gonna say in a few years when they realize the cost of their bacon is even higher than it was today. lol
I agree, democrats have a major problem with messaging, I just think it's absurd to point at it as the singular problem why they lost (Not that you were saying that).
One thing they missed big was the trans issue. Clearly it's a big one for a lot of Americans, and shouldn't have been glossed over. IDK how they could have tackled it, but ignoring it was a mistake.
Democrats fucked up bigtime, no doubt, but there was no shortage of other issues that cost them this election.
It's just been a loaded question from the right though hasn't it? A non-issue that is made an issue.
In Indiana...gov-elect Braun got called out in a debate for running ads saying McCormick (dem nominee) wanted to allow "males to compete in women's sports"...She never supported that. No one does. She called him out for the lie and up until Tuesday night the ads were still running.
Or the ad showing Harris saying prisoners should get sex change operations...a bill produced during the trump admin
Just bullshit.

1000% it's a loaded question, and I don't know HOW they could have addressed it, but to ignore it feels like a mistake in hindsight.
In the end though, I don't know that there's anything different Harris could have done. If there was a normal primary, whoever got picked would have been dragged for something else. If they were relatively scandal free, like Harris was, they would have been labeled fake, or made fun of for their laugh, or had any other ridiculous standard held against them.

Culture war bullshit. The right loooooooves them some culture war bullshit. This particular issue is so stupid because you can ask any of these magas if they've ever come across a trans person in their entire lives and the overwhelming majority will say no. So, then, why the fuck do you give a shit about this issue? It's ridiculous.
Logit and reasoning just completely goes right out the door with these people.
It comes down to the left is tolerant of everyone, which is obviously a good thing. But everyone means everyone...including those groups of people who look and sound different---so then the right exploits these minority groups to rile up their overly white base.
The majority of folks in the center left portion of the party are then put in a weird spot because they want to remain tolerant, but they have to somehow combat this nonsense from the right.
I don't really know how you do that. It's like walking a tight rope just to appease assholes in order to not lose 1-2% of the vote.
The more I think about it the more I am convinced that it was Russian interference (again) that got trump over the line.
The shit they were running on tiktok about Harris AND Walz was ridiculous. Did all of you see the supposed accusations a former student of Walz made about being sexually assaulted?

It's kind of scary.
Absolutely, he’ll cut the funding and Ukraine are done. Putin gets the land he wants and behind the scenes Trump will position it like he did for Putin and he won’t release his pee tape.

I really thought people were done with the Pee Tape nonsense. Russians didn't get him over the line. It seems they did have a hand in social media propaganda, but I doubt that was a factor.
i was wrong. i was overconfident. i had a strong belief that most of the people in this country were better than they actually are.
i'm done with politics. i've been fighting battles for no fucking reason for over 30 years. i don't have the energy for it any longer. i am just going to look out for the ones i love on the local level and just go from there. i need to protect my peace, and doing this political bullshit just isn't doing that. it's just not healthy. once you realize the game is rigged against you, the decision to quit is easy.
we are fucked. everybody look out for yourselves.

Definitely not rigged, just like the 2020 election wasn't rigged, but people still keep saying that for some reason.

At this point it doesn’t make sense to lose energy on asking how why but better to get a plan together that can work for you when things start to get uncomfortable! Like if his administration starts to shut down news outlets or arresting journalists those should be giant red flags!

My politics are libertarian and I've gone through stretches where I've had very good and very bad feelings about the Libertarian Party and various activist groups. It's very easy to blame the voters for "not getting it" or the system for being rigged but it's almost always primarily about the party and the candidate(s).

I think it comes down to messaging. Dems didn't bring it to a level that people understood, at least those who wanted to understand. More visuals during interviews comparing and contrasting the effects of her plan. People clearly are too lazy to read about so it's time to try and meet the ignorant where they are, on their phones and TVs. Less rallies, more conversations and meetings with people where they are. Wasn't really possible in 90 days, but should be a standard for the next candidate to start meeting the electorate of more than just 7 states. It's stupid. I don't think either candidate going to PA 15 times gave them better chances to win that state. Appeal to all voters, even in states you may not win. Break the fucking political norm and see what happens.

Sounds fun. Enjoy the shows. I know of 2 families who will be visiting there in January. Been to Tahiti, but NZ would be a great place. The ocean is magnificent down there.

i'm done with politics. i've been fighting battles for no fucking reason for over 30 years. i don't have the energy for it any longer. i am just going to look out for the ones i love on the local level and just go from there. i need to protect my peace, and doing this political bullshit just isn't doing that. it's just not healthy. once you realize the game is rigged against you, the decision to quit is easy.
we are fucked. everybody look out for yourselves.
