Anyone think that Trump could have rigged/tampered the election results,
especially in "the swing states" like PA and MI? Thought crossed my mind and I was talking to my mom and she actually thinks
the same thing . She thinks the truth will come out before January that
him, Musk and the Russians/Putin tampered with the election. I wouldn't
put it past him but I'm not sure. I hope this happens but we shall see.
Russia definitely tampered but I think it was more misinformation rather than rigging results.
Unfortunately I think the right just did a better job of motivating GenZ males....maybe the dems focused too much on the females
They did/do a fantastic job of keeping their voters misinformed about what is actually happening. We see it all the time in these very threads. This is pretty sad stuff. I don't know how these people are able to be reached. They just avoid reality at all costs.
& some will die on the hill that democrats' messaging about one of these issues is why they lost.
We're so fucked.
Well they have never been good at messaging. I think they should have done a much better job starting from 3 years ago in explaining why inflation was happening and beating the drum that it was affecting the entire world. If they did a better job at informing people about that from the get go, at least some portion of these voters would've have rightly given them credit for mitigating it better than any other country. The media deserves TONS of blame for not doing this as well. Ultimately a lot of this comes down to education. It's no surprise that Trump loves the poorly educated. They are everyone in this country, sadly.
I'm wondering what all these dopes are gonna say in a few years when they realize the cost of their bacon is even higher than it was today. lol
I agree, democrats have a major problem with messaging, I just think it's absurd to point at it as the singular problem why they lost (Not that you were saying that).
One thing they missed big was the trans issue. Clearly it's a big one for a lot of Americans, and shouldn't have been glossed over. IDK how they could have tackled it, but ignoring it was a mistake.
Democrats fucked up bigtime, no doubt, but there was no shortage of other issues that cost them this election.
It's just been a loaded question from the right though hasn't it? A non-issue that is made an issue.
In Indiana...gov-elect Braun got called out in a debate for running ads saying McCormick (dem nominee) wanted to allow "males to compete in women's sports"...She never supported that. No one does. She called him out for the lie and up until Tuesday night the ads were still running.
Or the ad showing Harris saying prisoners should get sex change operations...a bill produced during the trump admin
Just bullshit.
But it is happening. Maybe not in every school, but there are biological males that play agains females. So how is it a non issue? Maybe blown up to be a bigger problem than it is, but it's not a non-issue. Pretending it's a non-issue was part of the problem.
example?
but my point was the accusation was made without merit or evidence
Her story was everywhere when it happened. Google her name. https://www.iwf.org/female-athlete-stories/payton-mcnabb/ On September 1, 2022, during a volleyball game against a rival North Carolina high school, 17-year-old Payton McNabb received a devastating head and neck injury as the result of a spike by a male athlete who identified as transgender. Have you really never heard of any of these stories? Lia Thomas? College team forfeiting because they didn't want to play against biological males in a tournament? like I said, it may not be an every school thing, but it definitely happens.
And we only hear about the stories that have a big consequence, like major injury or shattering records. I'm sure it happens every day that we don't hear about it.
A lot of people are saying...
LOL yeah there's very few trans athletes so whatever
It’s been reported on several articles/studies that there approximately 40 openly trans athletes competing in high school sports in the entire country.
I guess these injuries that are a result of a transgender athlete never happen when there are no transgender athletes. None of these injuries can occur unless there's a transgender athlete present. This is coincidence and absolute bullshit. Eric Hovde used the same ploy on Tammy Baldwin in the WI senate race.
Regardless of injuries or not, in the spirit of competition, if there isn't a difference why do we separate women from men in sports?
Maybe we shouldn't, just 1 league, if you are good enough you play, if not, no play for you.....c'mon.
I'll listen to the lack of competitive balance from transgender athletes in women's sports, but what pisses me off is the Republican strategy to take it up a level and put the fear into voters that their kids are more susceptible to injury. That tactic drives me up the wall.
While I do not think it is the main reason I am concerned about this issue...the data would say women are more susceptible to injuries playing against men.
"Yes, women in co-ed leagues are more likely to experience injuries than women in women-only leagues:
Injury rate
In one study, the injury rate in co-ed matches was 7.5 times higher than in training, while in women-only leagues, the rate was nearly four times higher in matches than in training."
That's co-ed. Your sampling is not congruent with the Republican narrative. You can cherry pick all of the injuries that happen in women's sports with transgender athletes as much as you can cherry pick those without. Referencing the two examples by jerparker is just fishing for information to fit a narrative. I'm not advocating for transgender athletes to compete in women's sports. I'm pushing back against the narrative of fear mongering.

Would you want your daughter on a soccer pitch, a volleyball court, a lacrosse field, a field hockey game, or even ice hockey game against a larger male that claims to identify as female? Competing against a male in the pool? If you have a dick, get off the female team and do not compete against females. You are a male. You can identify however you want and that is ok. I have no issue with your choices. Just stay out of sports.

I don't know much about this issue but what about transgender men. Should they play women's sports or men's sports. I have a friend who is a transgender man. And the testosterone he takes has made him quite muscular. So, should he be playing women's sports since he was born a woman? I'm genuinely interested in what people have to say about this since I rarely hear about the issue from this perspective.

Yup great questions. Testosterone is basically PED....so I would say follow the science on determining what creates a competitive advantage and not allow it.
Anyone think that Trump could have rigged/tampered the election results,

That's co-ed. Your sampling is not congruent with the Republican narrative. You can cherry pick all of the injuries that happen in women's sports with transgender athletes as much as you can cherry pick those without. Referencing the two examples by jerparker is just fishing for information to fit a narrative. I'm not advocating for transgender athletes to compete in women's sports. I'm pushing back against the narrative of fear mongering.
Yup it's co-ed...though it doesn;t take a large leap to know that someone who had testosterone helping build muscle to a level much higher than the average female athlete does pose some extra risk in physical sports against female opponents.
Though I do agree that the #1 concern...for me...is competitive fairness.
I think to single out transgender as the reason for injury risks in sports (at least school age sports) is ignoring the fact that men and women come in all sizes so injuries can occur when the other team has the 12 year old who looks 16 because they hit puberty earlier. Are we going to separate them for competing against the other 12 year old who looks 10 or is just average size? Anyone with kids has seen this play out in middle school and high school sports.
It's also interesting that you rarely see anyone complain about the cis girl wrestling, playing football or baseball. We have all of those things where my kids attend school. Should they be banned from competing in boys sports too?

How is co-ed defined? An equal number of men and women? Or any mix of gender, e.g. one woman playing rugby with men?
I honestly have not thought hard enough about this issue regarding competitive fairness. It makes sense when you discuss fairness. When you go to injury, it can be taken as a woman couldn't spike a ball hard enough, or serve a tennis ball hard enough, etc., to do the same thing. In my opinion you are belittling a woman's athletic potential by going there.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.
I understand the arguments on both sides of this issue, and I don't think it's an easy problem to solve, but "if you have a dick" reflects a gross oversimplification of how biological sex manifests itself in the human population.

You said it’s a non issue and asked for examples. I gave you 3. And now your response is “whatever.” Which exactly why it’s a problem. People don’t care or downplay that there are cases where males play against girls. And have caused lasting injuries as a result. It’s not every school. But it does happen.

Jesus christ. And a woman couldn't deliver a serve resulting in a similar head injury? Give me a fucking break.
You do realize that boys are built differently and on average have more physical strength, right? Not that it can’t happen, but the risk is higher when a female faces a male athlete.

Maybe true. But stay away from sports if you have identity issues. Be what you want to be. Live your free life. Why create controversy over your personal issues? If you are a physical male, with XY then you should not compete against females. It is that simple. To do otherwise is just to create static or draw attention.

Pretending it's a non-issue was part of the problem.
example?

You said it’s a non issue and asked for examples. I gave you 3. And now your response is “whatever.” Which exactly why it’s a problem. People don’t care or downplay that there are cases where males play against girls. And have caused lasting injuries as a result. It’s not every school. But it does happen.
I wouldn't

Jesus christ. And a woman couldn't deliver a serve resulting in a similar head injury? Give me a fucking break.
You do realize that boys are built differently and on average have more physical strength, right? Not that it can’t happen, but the risk is higher when a female faces a male athlete.
A transgender athlete is a female. You have nothing scientifically to prove your bull shit claim. Reference two articles and that means it applies to everything. Crap science.

I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.
I understand the arguments on both sides of this issue, and I don't think it's an easy problem to solve, but "if you have a dick" reflects a gross oversimplification of how biological sex manifests itself in the human population.
Maybe true. But stay away from sports if you have identity issues. Be what you want to be. Live your free life. Why create controversy over your personal issues? If you are a physical male, with XY then you should not compete against females. It is that simple. To do otherwise is just to create static or draw attention.
Biological sex actually isn't that simple. "Personal issues" is not an apt descriptor of this natural phenomenon. Just because something creates static or draws attention, it doesn't mean that it was done "just to" create static or draw attention. The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom created static and drew attention, but its goal and purpose were, as the name suggests, jobs and freedom. You recognize that "live your free life" and "stay away from sports" are not compatible ideas, right? That is the same logic that held that black people should sit in a different section of the theater or the bus.
Again, this is a much more complicated question than you presume it to be.
The Dems have to try to convince idiots to vote for them? The idiots who are undereducated, don’t believe science and are filled with hate and fear? Get the fuck out. As someone else said, let the repubs lead, burn it all down and bite the hand that feeds them. Good luck, the next 4 years are going to be brutal for anyone not white and upper class.

Try to be more respectful.
Why? It’s the age of POOTWH. Disrespect is the order of the day. Gee, I wonder if Brandon will release the contents of the letter POOTWH left for him prior to blowing off the inauguration?

If a transgender man is able to make the men's team they should absolutely play on the men's team. Similarly, if a woman is good enough to make a men's team she should also do so if she wants to.
I'm a huge baseball fan and few things would be better for the sport than if a woman made an MLB roster some day.

A thing that makes people more antagonistic to this issue (and trans issues broadly) is other people claiming to not understand why we have separate classes for boys/girls and men/women at every level of sport after a certain age. It's completely disingenuous.

Try to be more respectful.
Folks have gotten away with this awful behavior all week. It's despicable. You all know who you are.
Your posts are riddled with fearmongering and sensationalism. Literally ever post.
Getting to know some of the "personalities" that inhabit the AMT forum is a time-honored rite of passage

Compared to all of us being safer to decide over US nukes than Donald Trump
My take is be who you want to be, live your best life, but stay out of competitive sports. Join a club, find a team, there are options. It just raises so many questions about fairness. Why stir the pot?
And that is politics skewed to gain favor. I do not even know if there are statistics to support the position that trans participation increases injuries. But statistics can be found to support almost any position.
Though I do agree that the #1 concern...for me...is competitive fairness.
It's also interesting that you rarely see anyone complain about the cis girl wrestling, playing football or baseball. We have all of those things where my kids attend school. Should they be banned from competing in boys sports too?
Which exactly why it’s a problem. People don’t care or downplay that there are cases where males play against girls. And have caused lasting injuries as a result. It’s not every school. But it does happen.
Even happened to somewhere here, which you commented on.
But, whatever.

Maybe true. But stay away from sports if you have identity issues. Be what you want to be. Live your free life. Why create controversy over your personal issues? If you are a physical male, with XY then you should not compete against females. It is that simple. To do otherwise is just to create static or draw attention.

I'm a huge baseball fan and few things would be better for the sport than if a woman made an MLB roster some day.
