Why is it always the Dems that need to look inward and reset or fucking change? Look at what the previous 12 years of repub administrations have wrought upon the nation and world. For fucks sake, have folks forgotten how to compare and contrast?

Fucking own it. Everyone who pulled a lever for POOTWH, fucking own it.
    Hey he's FOOTWH now!

I'm with you though. The Democrats shouldn't change at all.
    Sieg Heil!
Like I said, don't change. The strategy of calling people Nazis seems to be working out great for the Dems.
Common sense tells most reasonable people that if you openly court the nazi vote and take lines out of hitler’s fucking speech playbook, that’s the easiest target to hit, and should be shot at every chance you get.

But common sense doesn’t serm to apply to half your country.

LONG LIVE THE USA!!!!!!!!!!!  Don't worry ladies and Eddie...Trump won't make abortion illegal nationally.  Life (and abortion) will go on.

He's going to clean up Biden's huge mess and in four years we're going to all sing kumbaya together whatever happens next time around (unless AOC or Kamala or Walz or someone as bad as them are who the libs come up with).

For all the MAGATS crowing about how great this “golden age” of POOTWH is going to be, anyone want to put chits down on commonly accepted indicators at the end of 4 years? Like stock market performance, inflation, GDP, unemployment, interest rates, crime, school shootings, job creation, number of children living below the poverty line, gas prices, US involvement in foreign wars, etc.? Other indicators? Anyone?

yes it is...and the thought of having to listen to the GOP defend trump for the next four years makes me sick.

That was the worst part of his first term. Everyone knows when he fucks up but they just can't admit it.

It was an odd situation for sure. I love Biden but he should have stepped aside a year ago and let the process truly play out.

Nothing against Harris. I think she's capable but the dems really needed a true primary without Biden.

Maybe it wouldn't have made a difference. Who knows. But very odd to lose an election when the economy is as strong as it is.

Regardless...the people have spoken and this is what they want.

I don't think anyone could have garnered enough support and excitement to turn out the vote to defeat this Trump wave.  I think Walz turned out to be a terrible pick, but again, I don't think it would have mattered.

That kind of brings me peace in this.  This wasn't Trump taking the world off guard and snaking enough electoral votes from Hillary.  This was a mandate from a majority of the country.  This is what the majority of voters want.  There are a lot of turds who voted for trump, but there are also a lot of non-crazy people I respect, work for, am friends with, and some family elders.
In 2016, they should have leaned into somebody with ideals who spoke to the people, and had a movement like Sanders or Yang.  At worst, allowed Biden to continue the successful Obama administration.  Instead, it was "Hillary's turn" and they breathed life into Trump's political career.

At the point of 2024, there was no winning.  A primary would have exposed warts of the candidate sooner and also likely fractured the party again (they needed FULL, excited turnout).  Biden couldn't win again. Harris probably did as well as they could have hoped.
The Democrats do need to soul-search and figure out how to speak to middle-america again.  They have lost them.  Identity politics have hit their ceiling and it is not high enough.

Do everyone a favor and don't freak out on forums or otherwise.  Trumpers are frantically searching for it and basking right now.  Have some dignity and don't give them that.  Van Jones can also fuck off with his meme-generating melodrama.

If you are freaking out and depressed, just take a deep breath and understand you are powerless in these events, and have been powerless.  Take each day in the next 4 years and try to better yourself.  Things you can control.  A workout and health routine, savings and spending habits, getting more out of each day.  Maybe get involved in local politics or community groups.
    Well said.

Will have to mark all those numbers on 1/21/25 and keep an eye on them and what’s funny is that the MAGA’s like the ones in my family who voted for him don’t believe his policies will harm them just like anyone else that somehow they will be excluded because they voted for him! The one theme you will hear in two years will be! I never thought it would affect me.

If you are poor and struggling today, you’ll be poor and struggling the day after the election, and the day after the inauguration, and the day after that…

Oil companies are not going to willingly shrink their profits so the “poors” can have cheap gas. The Cargills, Tysons, Doles, and General Mills of the world are not going to just decide to let their quarterly profits dip out of the goodness of their hearts so you can pay less for groceries. No contractor is going to overbuild a supply of homes to get you access to a cheap house. None of it will happen regardless of who has their hands on control of the government.

Correct, and in addition we'll get to see how deregulation, tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy and how efficient the government soon will be once Elon is done with it. The wealth gap is going to explode.
    It's a hopeless situation...

    Happy days are here again…

My final thoughts on this election and my FINAL post in this thread

The American people saved this Country from further decline. Donald Trump is not the savior, he is the messenger. He still has powerful forces against him.  The Republican and Democrat swamp have a lot to lose if Trump does follow through with his promises.

For me, he needs to pull the curtain on Government corruption and incompetence. He needs to expose the DOJ/FBI for their involvement in RussiaGate and J6.  He needs to hold Fauci/NIH accountable for the lies. He needs to promote peace. He needs to stop illegal immigration. He needs to kill DEI and the Woke mind virus of the military. He needs to bring back the American dream for everyone. He has a lot to do in four years.

A quick observation: for those of you that commented in this tread, I suggest getting away for the State Media and cable news. I have said this before, you are being lied to.  Believe it or not at your knowledge peril, Twitter is the best place to go for information. I suggest you seek out a few people that you can trust to be truthful in various subject matters. For instance, last night I did not watch cable news at all until around 2am. My wife was watching it and I had so much better and more up-to-date information from Twitter than what she was given by the so-called news people on TV.

Finally, maybe I should start a Forum Thread for “PJ Fans That Voted for Trump”. Look for it, maybe.

    Happy days are here again….

When will the democrats that voted for her riot in DC to protest the outcome? I’ll tell you when! Never law abiding citizens like me or countless of millions we accept outcomes unlike what we saw in 2021
To be fair 20m voters didn't just say I don't need to show up. Most of those 20m voters were definitely illegal undisputably fraudulent. See exhibit A.

Good luck getting your social security when you retire and will you be posting pictures of you at the rail on Inauguration Day?

When you say “again” when are you referring to. I have had the same question about the MAGA slogan - again from when? What time period are we taking about? I’ve never been able to get an answer. But you seem to know.

At least Sweden keeps being the far better country.
Let's all find comfort in that.
