Of course if no one buys the PJ premium tickets at the price levels then expect an increase in ticket prices next time around
That's going to happen no matter what. If they go up drastically, then at least make them static. The surge pricing is a slap in the face to ticket buyers.

Since 10Clubbers don't have most of the best seats, there will be no way for us to upgrade through each other like we have in the past. And even though we will be blown away by the sticker shock of the PJP seats, they will disappear quickly for the popular shows.

Don't assume Premium means the best seats. They sell some pretty bad tix as Premium.
First, the 200's will see an increase anywhere from $250 to $450, 100's will see around $325 for
the back, and up to $1,500 for bird's eye views from Mike or Stone's
side. GA & Floor could go as high as $4,000.
A few members here can
confirm that there was a pair of MSG floor seats that sat around for
$4K EACH last year. Did they get bought? Not by anyone on
this board. If I had to guess, unless someone very well off decided to
Treat Himself, they were re-absorbed & later released on day-of show. A few production holds shook loose that day, and I saw people going up to the box office & scoring decent seats right as I was walking in.
ALL the shows last year that had PJ Premiums saw the remaining inventory slowly decrease in price, and eventually drop to the 2020/2022 regular prices set forth in their respective tour announcements.

I have also found with other bands recently the winning strategy is to wait to 1-3 days before the show to buy. However, unless it is a local show, that isn’t a reliable strategy.
The strategy I took for the show I traveled to last time around (Ottawa) was to get a decent seat through F2F to make sure I was in the building and then try to upgrade the day of. It worked like a charm. The morning of the show, there was a side stage ticket drop (which is typical on the morning of the show after the stage has been set up), and I ended up getting 2nd row about 15 feet from Mike. Best seats I’ve ever had for PJ. And this is by no means uncommon; the day of, some of the best seats in the house are released after the stage is set up and artist/production holds are released.
Also, I’m a big fan of the F2F system and found that it’s a great way to try to (1) get into the building for any shows you struck out on in the 10c lottery and VF; and (2) upgrade your seats. And people on here who end up with extra tickets are more than happy to help you out. I arranged timed drops with several other members, and vice-versa, and was able to score some great upgrades and help other people do the same. For example, in Camden, I started off in one of the last rows in the back of the 200s, and ended up in the middle of the 100s about 20 rows from the stage. With the F2F system, there’s no reason to ever pay more than face value, even for really good seats. Trust the process, and remember that patience and persistence pays off!

I watched the process unfold for each show last year. Sure SOME people will buy the Premiums, but the show is never REALLY sold out.
Every show last year followed the pattern I laid out.
It will be the same this year. Even Chicago!

Indy is almost the same set up as Camden. I was able to get F2F under the pavilion the week of the show for Camden. I’m not sure why everyone is surprised by the premium pricing, I thought 2022 was worse especially in MSG, Camden, Toronto, and Nashville. Chicago is going to be similar.
Also, premium pricing DOESN’T mean best seats in the house. That still goes to 10c. They might have a few in the first few rows of a section, but for the most part they block out an entire row in the middle or back of section, and call it PJ Premium.
Not gonna lie. I bought PJ Premium for LA 2. The seats were originally $1100 each then down to $700. By the day of the show, they dropped an entire row labeled PJ Premium right next to the stage for $175. Face value was around $125. I see the Texas shows being an easy F2F, and premiums dropping down to $200 from wherever they originally were.

For a datapoint on Chicago shows, I struck out on Earthlings shows but waited until the week of to watch Platinum priced seats. Managed to get tickets 5 rows back for one show, then in one of the side booths for the other - both at or lower than regular ticket pricing.
Granted, those were already expensive tickets and during weeknights in a Chicago winter, but the transfer laws for Illinois likely will see some seats selling for less than face on StubHub (whereas F2F requires paying face).
I want lawn for Indy, Hopefully if enough pass on them I can come off the waitlist and pick up a pair.

They’ve stated in their ticketing info sent out a few times, that 10% of the venue goes to Ticketmaster’s premium pricing, so they can secure the other 90% of tickets for 10c tickets.

you know the less people buy the premium the more the 10C tickets will be in future tours right? they specifically said the premium tix were used to off set higher tickets for the 10 Club. Not saying I don't agree in principle with the OP but until Ticketbastard is broken up Premium Tix are here to stay.

They don’t plan to sell all of the premium tickets.
They make more than enough money off of folks hitting the panic button and then for those comfortable waiting, it’s a great option to pick up seats closer to the show.

Also, premium pricing DOESN’T mean best seats in the house. That still goes to 10c. They might have a few in the first few rows of a section, but for the most part they block out an entire row in the middle or back of section, and call it PJ Premium.
Not gonna lie. I bought PJ Premium for LA 2. The seats were originally $1100 each then down to $700. By the day of the show, they dropped an entire row labeled PJ Premium right next to the stage for $175. Face value was around $125. I see the Texas shows being an easy F2F, and premiums dropping down to $200 from wherever they originally were.
Granted, those were already expensive tickets and during weeknights in a Chicago winter, but the transfer laws for Illinois likely will see some seats selling for less than face on StubHub (whereas F2F requires paying face).

I find it hard to understand why the band would allow Premium Seating at $4000 in the first place!
