I still think it’s odd there is a rumoured 2 leg USA tour this year with one last year and one presumedly next year with a new album.

GoAnimal keep up the great posting. People like you keep this forum fun even during the slow times. Love the effort!

Thanks, bud :) and yeah, I feel that. I think the days of big tours are over, but smaller legs of a dozen, or so dates? Or one leg with some ballparks mixed in? Plausible enough to keep at it!

People need to keep in mind that nothing is ever set in stone. People can (and often do) change their mind. Plans change for any number of reasons. The Bridge School Benefit was coming back last year...until it didn't. Threads like this are amusing...until someone takes them too seriously.

Hey, I admit I got Sonic Temple wrong. But two social media posts that hinted at PJ was worth talking about.

Which is what we're doing here. Just talking.

You're TRYING to get one over on me, or hoping for a dopamine rush from a heavily-workshopped zinger (bet it took you 3 hrs minimum to come up with "pillars of salt" as a comeback).

BUT here's a secret, and I'm gonna whisper it as not to disturb our boardmates...

:pats head: now... run along, sport!🥱
911 posts and they all add up to what? No dates… no rumors.. just hot dog stand names. Maybe if you guess enough you’ll get one right.

Awww shit folks. Just seen a picture and 2 blocks down in Philly is Pearl Street… we lookin’ at at least 2 dates. Probably a full tour.

It definitely shouldn’t be taken seriously. Especially when you’re 900 plus posts in and I haven’t read one real “rumor” in the “OFFICIAL” tour rumor thread.

Maybe no PJ dates until new album will be out? No PJ live until 2024?

There was definitely plans for shows this year. I do wonder though if the album is now taking priority like you mentioned. It is still way too early to write off this year and this spring even but it is odd we do not have much to go on aside from an interview saying Matt is touring in the spring.

Dimi did change his FB group from Pearl Jam 2022 Tour to Pearl Jam 2023 tour back in like October when that tour finished up.  I think we all agree he knows things.  Not saying the info he has hasn’t changed though.

I’m pretty sure there will be shows this year, besides that I got nothing!

I would like to believe that they would want to milk out at least a few more dates in support of Gigaton before touring a new album.

They had no touring revenue for 3 entire years. Fall of 2018 - Fall of 2021. I’m sure that’ll come into play.

  • We have to keep in mind that while the world has mostly moved on from Covid, it’s still a thing and as far as I know when bands tour they still bubble and follow protocols.  That’s got to be a disincentive to touring I would think.  If they don’t need the money why put themselves through that.  Just a perspective.

Agree. There’s always a chance but things aren’t looking good. Generally since 2014 the band has toured in even numbered years and EV in odd numbered years. Was hoping for EV Euro Tour but I think chances are very low given nothing announced (and with many other artists having all announced already).

I often wonder which members of the band like touring and which do not (from his Instagram posts it’s obvious Jeff hates it). Some other bands like the Killers tour with two of their members missing as they hate touring / do not want to be away from family. I suppose an option for all bands, but I don’t think it would seem right if PJ ever did this.
