Why. They didn't tour in 2017 and 2019 before COVID-19.

We have to keep in mind that while the world has mostly moved on from Covid, it’s still a thing and as far as I know when bands tour they still bubble and follow protocols.  That’s got to be a disincentive to touring I would think.  If they don’t need the money why put themselves through that.  Just a perspective.

    The thing that I still don’t get….

If you don’t want to Tour, whatever, but why not a few nights per year in Seattle.

Make us come to you during the “off” years.  We don’t mind.  I promise.  Just play somewhere.

Why? What an odd question. Years without a Pearl Jam tour are sad. Also the kick to the nuts that was Sacramento last year and then also personally having to opt out of Nashville made me really look forward to more this year. And I want to hear as many Gigaton songs before it’s overshadowed by something new…

Agree. There’s always a chance but things aren’t looking good. Generally since 2014 the band has toured in even numbered years and EV in odd numbered years. Was hoping for EV Euro Tour but I think chances are very low given nothing announced (and with many other artists having all announced already).

I often wonder which members of the band like touring and which do not (from his Instagram posts it’s obvious Jeff hates it). Some other bands like the Killers tour with two of their members missing as they hate touring / do not want to be away from family. I suppose an option for all bands, but I don’t think it would seem right if PJ ever did this.
EV announcements are usually a bit later though maybe March, not saying it will happen but there's time for that yet

We're 12 days into the year and people are already convinced there won't be shows this year because they haven't announced something yet.  Wow.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Because they aren't getting any younger and are already scaling back the length of shows, acoustic starts for Ed's voice, etc.  How would not touring this year not be sad when they are still capable of high energy shows? It's not going to last forever folks.

We have 5-7 years left if we’re lucky.  Every year matters.  No one can rightfully expect the band to be the same in their mid to late 60s.

Maybe. Maybe not. I just got a show announcement for Ringo Starr’s all star band with Edgar Winter. I thought he was dead. He must be arround 95

I could be dead wrong (and I have been in the past) as they might not tour in 2023 - but I feel there are 3 reasons why I think they will tour this year.

    Reason 1. Boston
    Reason 2. Chicago
    Reason 3. Seattle
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

Exactly this! There is just no way they don’t play these cities this year! Zero % chance there aren’t at least 3-6 shows. Can add Philly to this too really.

Only $1,000/ticket?  #1 Riot Act.  Seeing No Code again would be amazing too.  You're going to make people in Canada, Boston, TX, FL upset with this list.  Can't win.  When is the pre-sale, where does the GA/merch line start?
I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.

Fun thought experiment  :sunglasses: Lotta great choices. Perhaps you choose based purely on a favorite album? Maybe a beloved city or one you'd like to visit? Maybe you're a song collector and try to gather a bunch of white whales? Anniversary show w/ full album Yield in Chicago?? Yes, please.

At first blush the golden trifecta of Riot Act in NYC on Halloween would be hard to pass up.

If I’m not mistaken 2015 no American shows 2017 no American shows 2018 seven ballpark shows 2019 nothing 2020 nothing then we all got a little excited with the Ohana shows and then the small 2022 shows so I think yes I want some damn shows! Sacramento and Vegas were to be my final 2022 shows some positive news would be awesome!

So that festival releases the lineup Tuesday, has the band ever just announced a random festival without a whole tour? Sonic temple isn’t the biggest festival out there, you’d think that show would get announced with other dates. Are we really getting dates tomorrow or Tuesday? I don’t buy it. I hope I am wrong
They have discussed how they try to keep the environmental impact in mind when handling the logistics of touring. Doing a single show out in Ohio is absolutely not the most efficient use of resources.
I can almost promise you that they don’t pay a single thought to the environmental impact of playing a show when a festival offers a million dollar payday

That is not true. Id bet they buy carbon credits to offset the impact. And it is probably 2m.

Side note: I always factored PJ for Sat or Sun at Sonic Temple. My gut still says Sat.

    Like perhaps a Superblood Wolfmoon?

90% chance the boys are locked in for Sonic Temple. Just a matter of which day...

when you call sonic temple a “90% lock” based off nothing? 🤣🤪

the only salt here is the pillars upon which your rumors are based…
I bet in the future they play Sonic Temple  fest everyone else has from. The 90s it going to happen in 24.25.26.27. I hope

People need to keep in mind that nothing is ever set in stone.
So, it's Stone's fault, as per usual.
I saw Stone in 2010 here in Columbus Ohio
