$250 a ticket and being forced to show health status AND wear a mask inside the venue? Hard pass on that BS. I wonder if EV has to mask up? No, he's the singer and famous so he's exempt. Will the rest of the band mask up? Doubt it. Can no one see the hypocrisy? The world has come undone...

A big part of our problems now arise from the fact that a lot of the people who can easily plonk down $250 for a concert ticket have discovered that doing so doesn’t exempt them from public health requirements, and they’re fucking furious about it.
I by no means think that paying a fee for anything exempts me from anything at all. I'm not that crazy. I do think having a room full of vaccinated people or people who have tested negative and are still required to wear masks is one of the most insane concepts I've ever heard. But I understand that's the new normal for the sheep.
I hate to get into this, but there is a public health reason related to the current prevalence of the virus and the fact that vaccines are not 100% effective (and decline in efficacy over time). It's not about government control or conspiracies or leading the "sheep". It's biology and math. Just remember that the people you count as sheep include thousands of physicians and scientists that spend their careers studying infectious diseases and public health. They're not perfect, but they're the most knowledgeable people around.
did anyone receive this after requesting tix? hours later and still nothing

Breaking news! The world has rules! You need a shirt AND shoes to go in the supermarket.
Does everyone need a shirt and shoes to go to the supermarket? Because not everyone has to mask up where other people are required to.
Not everyone can buy alcohol either. There are many examples of rules that are applied differently to people depending on circumstances.

Placed my request for two tix for Newark. Gave my wife the great news. She heard the ticket price and I had to promptly cancel the request and resubmit it for one ticket. I have one ticket for Ottawa because someone dosn't want to drive 10 hours for a show. She is all good with seeing PJ at MSG though

$470+ for 2 tickets to the Chicago Auditorium? Give me a break. I just saw My Morning Jacket there last month, 3 nights in a row. $60 seats each night. Yes, there are still musicians out there that don't rake people over the coals just to pad their bank accounts. Sorry to say...but Vedder's pricing is complete bullshit.

He is correct. Although the email and ticketmaster has the standard generic covid language, the Auditoriums website does state masks are required.
3 nights there last month for MMJ. Had to show proof of vax and wear a mask to get in but 99% of the fans had beers/drinks each night and didn't wear their masks for the entirety of the sets. Mask wearing wasn't enforced at all.

This is kind of my point...why have a requirement when it's not enforced? And if so many people are so concerned about this then why would 99% of people not be wearing a mask? The answer... optics and herd mentality. People are so easily influenced by what others do and say they can't get out of their own way to conform. Look no further than the person driving alone in their car wearing a mask. That says it all to me.

One person's anecdotal report of people not wearing masks isn't really solid public health information. If I offer you my own anecdotal experience that people are mostly wearing masks at the shows I've been to, does that really mean anything? People might be easily influenced by public health guidelines because they trust the people with expertise who analyze the available data to make recommendations. Or maybe they just trust their own doctor. Or they might even evaluate the publicly available data themselves and make a judgement that it is worthwhile to try to reduce the risk of becoming infected or infecting others. There might be a bit more to it than herd mentality and optics, particularly when you consider that tens of millions have been infected and we're approaching 800,000 dead. A lot of people personally know others that have suffered or died. That might also influence the decision to wear masks. Just some food for thought.

I agree with everything you just said, 100%. My issue is making, requiring, mandating vaxed and people who test negative to still wear masks. I mean, when does it end? Never? When someone puts out a number that says it's ok? That's my issue. I certainly didn't mean to get on here and spout off about mask requirements and I realize I've done just that. I came on the forum to see about the ticket process and to gather information about the tour. After seeing that the venue in Chicago would require proof(ok) or a negative test(ok) but then still require masking got under my skin and I posted my thoughts. As soon as I hit "post comment" knowing that I had vax/mask/etc in my post I knew it would go south. I get it. Peace

So, I'm sure I will get ripped for this, but here goes. Lots of people are balking at the $200 ticket price. Is $125 THAT much different? It's $75. Thats a crappy dinner out. This is a once in a few years concert. I understand not everyone is well off financially, I get it. It just seems that people waste $75 on much dumber things. And I am now ready for the "I need that $75 for rent". If so, I would say you probably shouldn't spend $125 either.

It's frustrating times for everyone - I understand. No worries - take it easy.
I don't care how much the tickets cost. I just wish PJ would play closer to where I live (south Texas) more often. I'll gladly pay $1,000 for two tickets as long as I don't have to travel 1,500 miles to see a show.

Travelling is 1/2 the fun! I even do lots of solo trips. And I feel like I can eat like a king because I spend less than what I would on a meal for 2.
My biggest gripe is lack of southeast dates and dates in general. Why not hit a bunch more cities? My only guess is the Earthlings will have more tours down the line. - and no way it’s a we don’t know the demand thing because it’s a modern day supergroup! They know they will sell them.
Instead of charging more in order to play less, PLAY MORE and charge a little less. These guys barely have to work to survive anymore and they can’t be bothered to do at least 10 shows? 8 nights of their lives is all they got in them? Same with Pearl Jam honestly, the touring schedule is so light of late (covid reasons excluded). I know this just sounds like gimme gimme gimme, but I know they can give us more. Something we don’t know about holds them back.
