    not exactly a misheard lyric but this might fit in here anyway.
    i went to the hairdresser today, he's a guy around mid-20 or something & we started discussing music. i told him i was planning on going to this concert in about a month and he asked what band was playing. i told him "Pearl Jam" but HE misheard me and thought i said "CURL Jam" which i thought was very ironic & funny, 1) he had NEVER heard of them before 2) he was actually curling my hair as we were speaking. both my friend and i started laughing our heads off and he did too once he got what was so funny ...

    Oh boy, showing the age on this one.... but I always thought Peter Gabriel in "Games Without Frontiers" sang, "she's so popular..." instead of "jeux sans frontier!" Must have been sleeping in French class that day! I think ALL PJ tunes made are subjective & are interpeted by the listener so you can take what u want from them & have meaning for yourself. All these years I feel its a quirkie Ed thing either to write or sing that way.

    In 'sad' on Lost Dogs, i really used to believe it was;

    'and its sad,
    that he only missed his food'

    instead of

    'and its sad,
    that his loneliness is proof'

    this confused me for the longest time ever, until i suddenly heard it the correct way...

    I've heard and sang so many but here are the funny ones:

    Jeremy, right lyric: "King Jeremy the wicked, ruled his world, Jeremy spoke in class todaaay!!!!!!"

    Jeremy, wrong lyric: "King Jeremy the wicked, ruled his world, Jeremy's smokin grass todaaay!!!!!"

    Black, right lyric: "Sheets of empty canvas, untouched sheets of clay, were laid spread out before me, as her body once did"

    Black, wrong lyric: "Sheets of empty canvas, untouched sheets of clay, her legs spread out before me, as her body once did"

    These made me laugh uncontrollably.

    Lukin...

    Real;
    "...I take a walk, so I can curse my ass for being dumb...".

    I keep singing;
    "...I take a walk, so I can kiss my ass for being dumb...".

    Just realized that isn't a correct :o.

    You mean Lukin contains actual words....

    know what i really hate.. and every lyrics site seems to get this wrong:

    In LBC he sings "trying to shake the cancer off us stupid human beings"

    but everyone ive ever known (includings sites) say: "trying to shake the cancer off... ohhh stupid human beings" ... its just a word but makes all the difference to me...
    "Ransom paid the Devil, he whispers pleasing words.
    Triumphant are the angels if they can get there first."

    For some reason, in Black when he says "I'm surrounded by some kids at play", I always sing "some kiss of fate" instead. I originally thought that was what it said, and I found out the right lyric soon after I first heard the song, but the kiss of fate thing is pemanently cemented into my brain. Drives me nuts!!
    Stop following me, I do not know where I am going.

    I've been hearing Eddie singing something about some "free cookies" in Smile and i was always thinking that it couldnt be possible and definitely made no sense what so ever.. so i looked it up:

    "Three crooked hearts and swirls all around..."

    I Am Mine...

    "Me, I figure as each breath goes by..."

    I thought this was "The air getting thicker as each breath goes by"

    I still kinda like my version.:)

    Gotta post the Lukin one here....

    "I'm going to Lupins, gotta get small Lupins..." Yeah, I'm daft - and proud of it!
    ("Look my friends, I happen to know...that this...is the Lupin Express!" seriously, I thought this was in reference to the Monty Python sketch! Hey neat - PJ likes Monty Python...cool!)

    Also, a friend thought the Men at Work, Downunder song went like:

    "he just smiled and gave me a bite of Mike's sandwich" instead of

    "he just smiled and gave me a vegimite sandwich"

    My husband, her husband and I almost peed our pants we were laughing so hard!

    Dalai Lama—To say that humility is an essential ingredient in our pursuit of spiritual transformation may seem to be at odds with what I have said about the need for confidence. But there is clearly a distinction to be made between valid confidence or self-esteem, and conceit - which we can describe as an inflated sense of importance, grounded in a false image of self.
