  • When ten came out, everybody in my town swore at the end of Jeremy, Ed was singing, Jeremy Spokane, Spokane, Jeremy Spokane class today!

I know it's retarded, but it was pretty standard, in Spokane at the time.
  • I love this song and hate to do it any injustice but I swore that the opening line was

"She's an empty canvas, Untouched she's displayed
Legs spread out before me, as her body held stiff"

I dunno, just what I heard

I always thought Eddie was singing "I wish I was a new trombone" in the beginning of Wishlist..
Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.

i used to date this dumb bitch who thought the lyrics in "go" said "please don't go hungry".
...if she's gone i can't go on feelin' 2 foot small...

I got really confused about Sting's 'Every little thing she does'

i honestly used to think it said something like

'and i used to love her purple song"

and i listened to it tonight and suddenly realised it said something like

"and my love for her goes on"

purple song? 19 years of my life and i hear 'purple song'???

Here's a lesson i learned... NEVER do a trombone or trumpet sound out of your mouth in front of a Tromboner (sounds funnier than a Trombonist) or Tumpeter!... They hate it ;)

does anyone know what the song is really about? Once I read that Eddie said that if most people knew what it was about, they might not like it as well.

Thanks; I can't believe that it sounded so much like my wrong lyric.......

I guess I thought that it wasn't literal but more figurative, like, "pissed me off", etc.

I did check into the Lukin thing, and for the life of me, I can't figure out any of the words at all. Has it ever been sung in a form that you can understand the words?

I looked at the website that gave the explanation of what it's about, but it's the words that elude me. Even when I tried to listen to it on the Imagine....dvd, it was not understandable for me although the tune , itself without the words, is still pretty good.

  • One day I heard my buddy singing along to Evenflow.."oh, evenflow, because it hurts like butterflies!". I couldn't stop laughing.

haha i really screwed this one up...
Black Red Yellow, he sings, "Hormones firing like a fifty foot Roman, yeah."
I heard, "I'm on fire, like a fifty foot rubber man!" hahaha! it made no sense to me what-so-ever so i had to look at the lyrics. i was way off!

There's more funny when your english is not good (my example). Blck Red Yellow - i heard ... hormones firing like (sth - i couldn't recognizeg 50 foot) BOURBON!!!

I got it more:) maybe that's why i think words of their songs are so joyful

I heard: "I can't remember anything to this very day
    Except love, looooove..."
This made much more sense to me even after I read an interview where Eddie talk about the whole "where to keep the look thing"...

for me was always "i can't remember anything to this bury day"

    but what about stone?
    your light made us stars

    that's great...
    and this
i had a huge misinterpret for go. what i thought is sooo far off from the words, but the way ed sings it really sounds alike. hehe

    i thought:
"Once fastened, servile, now you're getting sharp
Moving oh so swiftly, with such disarm"
    was:
"one step so sublime, now you'll be a star
moving on so swiftly, just past the sun"

wow. i had more bad ones. once i think of them i'll post again. fun thread.

i knew this next one wasnt it but still to this day i hear:
"glorified pleasures of a pelican" in glorified g, instead of
"glorified version of a pellet gun"

    oooh .. from habit:

"i'm so happy with my righteous self"
    was:
"i'm so happy with what my wife just said"

I also hear "pelican". I.m on my knees..."i.m so happy with what my wife just said"
Thank U guys. I alway thought i've got problem with english, but now i'm sure Eddie has a problem with pronunciation.

He was singing : "Soy beans, soy beans, soy beans."

    Yeah. Lovely.

I thought it was "salt things"

Sorry, i stop to reply... to much... forgive me for taking so much place here:)

this confused me for the longest time ever, until i suddenly heard it the correct way...

I've almost forgot. That's my best. The last sentence from Lukin

-i heard, and i was happy 'couse i thought it was the only one sentence from this song i could recognize:
bl, bla, bla... pearl jam sad: no fuckin' code

instead:... was purchasing a fucking gun

So big mistake. But i thought my version so fit to the title of the album...
