^I booked without social security. What did u show for ID?
  • chittychitty Posts: 609
Wow, believe it or not, I didn't show id. Did not even clue in on that until you asked. They only asked for my Confirmation number. They give you a bag, you do the nasal swab yourself and put it in a box once you are done which they will send out to get tested. Was total different testing experience then in Canada.
  • Did the CVS pharmacy drive thru on Friday pm, just got my negative test results today. Used the hotel as my address and put down no insurance so the test costed 0.00.

    This is awesome.
  • I booked a pair of appointments for my wife and I at a Santa Ana CVS for tests Thursday at 4pm & 4:15pm respectively. About 69 hours prior to departure on Sunday.
Thanks for the heads up! Fantastic

Any of you people going to show have mixed vaccines? For example did you get an AZ and Moderna or Pfizer? I had heard on the local radio news last night that the US isn't recognizing people that have mixed vaccines and won't be allowed to cross boarder.
I personally received AZ & Moderna. I was hoping on going to Florida for a vacation in December and now a little worried.
I have AZ-Pfizer-Pfizer. Got the booster shot on September 9th. Albertans were allowed to get the booster if they planned on travelling.
Thanks for the reply, not sure if they giving out boosters here in Ontario yet. If they are I believe it is just for people with compromised immune systems. I would think that along as my test is negative there shouldn't be any issues.
On my receipt for the 2nd shot it just says Moderna and no mention of AZ anywhere

You have never had to be vaccinated to fly to the US at any point in the pandemic is my understanding. Only needed a negative antigen test within 72 hours of travel. Unless the US is changing their stance (and these things happen quickly in a state of emergency like a pandemic) you probably have little to worry about.
Just keep your ear to the ground regarding booster shots and all should be good 👍

Just found out per my health screening at work (college) I cannot go as I have to answer yes to question 1 about returning from outside of Canada, and regardless have to isolate for 10 days. This means a hard no on making the encore. This sucks

Sorry to hear. That's disappointing, I bet. The random small business policies are gonna count a few activities out here, too, if-when we get back.

Coukd you contact them to see if that is an outdated pre-vaccine policy?
  • Anybody who did CVS to get home from weekend one able to share what the turn around time was?

I’ve checked. It’s a no go. It’s what the current policy is. Unless it changes before Thursday I’m euchered.

Glad that worked out for you. I'm a bit nervous because I didn't rent a car and many are drive thru, but planned ahead for contingencies. I told my kid that I'll have to swab her. She wants BCs swish-mouthrinse test...

we had a glitch with our CVS appt and they couldn't accommodate our timing we had no choice but to book a mobile test....bit the bullet ..nurse came to our hotel to test us...took approx 25 minutes and had results in 8 hours

the  'house call' cost more than my first car ugh
Any new realizations... would have to wait...
Til he had more time,... more time...

Is it worse than 199# x2 at LAX one hour results? Referral please!

Customs back into Canada was a piece of cake. All I had to do was show screenshot of test result to Air Canada before boarding. My vax proof was uploaded to ArriveCan app and you show the receipt of that upload, which ArriveCan generate, to the border guard. I was off the plane and in car in ten minutes.

Just want to triple check the testing for going back to Canada with the folks here that did it last weekend.
    - my flight back to Canada is 7:30 AM Sunday morning.  I have a molecular lab test (PCR) booked at the CVS drive thru for Thursday morning at 10 AM.
    - for the CVS appointment I skipped the health card #, insurance and just used the hotel address.  No one ran into problems with this method?  Just tell them I’m from Canada when I pull up for the test and it’s not an issue?

  • I did the CVS booked online used the hotel address, picked no insurance option.  Got the test done Friday pm they didn’t ask for ID just the confirmation # , Got the results within 24-32 hours can’t remember showed AIr Canada at the gate and had no problems.  I did see a poor couple that missed their flight because they didn’t get their results back in time so be careful not to cut it too close on the timing

Thanks for the reply.  Did they charge for the test as you didn’t have insurance?

My test is Thursday AM and I fly out Sunday, I have t heard of tests taking more than 48 hours to get back so I should be good.  I’m guessing I’ll have results by end of business day Friday.

In 22 hours I will know if I am allowed to go, based on testing requirements! It's like Christmas eve, wondering if the sock will be full of coal or if it's a shiny red bike miracle!

Although cases in kids is up from 100 a day to 500/day here in BC, the newly released exposure in school data from did not list her school.

Dangerous, exciting times full of heightened anxiety and I dare say, hope?

Ya I am pretty nervous for Thursday. Neither of us have symptoms or close contacts but it is still one of those things that is out of our control and we just have to pray goes our way.
