That is crazy! It makes me think how far away March 2022 is if they can do this in June 2021. What are the rules in MSG right now? Last I saw for the NHL and NBA was close to full capacity. Full sellout allowed and expected?

The border better be reopened at least for fully vaxed. Come on governments. Let’s GO!

That’s cool that there will be a show at MSG in two weeks but this is probably easier to schedule since they’re doing sales from scratch.
If you already have the tickets sold out can you now say you have to be vaccinated to attend?
Also, with the borders still ‘closed’ would it be US citizens only?
And even throwing a further wrench is I’ve seen some US events that are requiring vaccination are only accepting US approved vaccinations. So any Astra Zeneca people can’t attend.
If you already have the tickets sold out can you now say you have to be vaccinated to attend?
Yes you absolutely can. My Yankees season tickets just came back into effect, you need to be vaccinated to use them and if that doesn’t work for you you can get a refund.
@tdawe how s it work with season tickets? Do you have to show your vax card to get the tickets? And please tell me you are in the right field bleachers.
I know the band is going to be the last one to announce anything. Even if we’re doing 500 cases a day, that’s probably 500 cases too many for them......but let’s gooooooo!! Require vaccination, offer refunds, and let’s get it going in September!!!

I’m guessing that the MSG FF shows (and any other MSG shows in very near future) will be for vaccinated only. I think had the Knicks made 2nd round of NBA playoffs was going to be vaccinated only. The Trey Anastasio shows at the Beacon later this month vaccinated only. MSG group owns/operates the Beacon.

@tdawe how s it work with season tickets? Do you have to show your vax card to get the tickets? And please tell me you are in the right field bleachers.
No, not to get the tickets, but you do have to prove your vaccination to get in to the seats since they’re in a “vaccinated” section (I haven’t been yet so not sure how it works; at MSG for the Knicks playoff games they were checking vax cards at the entrance to the arena and wristbanding).
Essentially the season tickets were on pause from the beginning of last season until now (well, until the next home stand two weeks from now). They had been taking it month by month - so you could buy either full or partial plans in the social distanced seating, but it was totally separate from your usual package. They said that once the stadium returned to full capacity, everyone’s regular season tickets would snap back into place for the rest of the season - I guess they changed plans slightly because it sounds like they will still have some socially distanced sections for unvaccinated people. Apparently my section is a vaccinated section so lucky me I guess. I’d be pretty pissed if my section happened to be one of the pest tents and most of the other holders got to go back.
I do sit in right field, but seats not bleachers. I used to sit in the bleachers (left field though - it’s really hard to get seasons out in RF, the people who are there have been there forever), but switched to the box seats once my habits started tending more towards “bringing my kids to a baseball game” than “hanging out and drinking 4-5 Bud Lights in the sun with my buddies”.

Off topic but… I had season tickets in the late 90s into the early 2000s in section 39 of the old stadium with the bleacher creatures. Saw a ton of World Series and playoff games from there. Also had some great entertainment from the people sitting around us 😂

Right field for the playoffs is a whole other level. Those guys do their homework. Listening to them break down an opposing right fielder over the course of a series is hilarious and terrifying.

Right field bleachers were awesome in the late 90’s. I believe it was $9 for a seat.
At least as of a few years ago when my seats were still out there, bleachers were still only $20 a game for the Saturday 16 game package anyway. $320 a year per man and you got your pass to day drink at the stadium whenever the Yanks were at home.
Also don’t forget the period in the mid-aughts, before the new stadium was built, when they tried to turn the bleachers into alcohol-free “family friendly” seating. Fucking anarchy.

I sat in the right field bleacher for the 96 playoffs..it was complete madness. lol when they played the Rangers the bleacher creatures mugged the damn hot dog vendor lol, They were just throwing hot dogs up in the air. They also hung a guy over the right field fence by his feet because he was wearing a Rangers hat. Unreal!

The Prime Minister said it would open up when Canada hit double vaxxed 75% of the population that is 12 and up. When he said that it lined up with that weekend. We are ahead of that pace now though so hopefully it gets bumped up into August.
big concern right now in regards to opening the border is testing... which will increase the average wait time from 1 minute per car to 8-9 minutes per car, which is huge. this is why waiting until vaccinations hit 75% (two dose) or fall (less busy) make sense.
