the drum beat and guitar mutes at the beginning sounds exactly like undone to me.   This has to be a matt c song, guitar riffs are very soundgardenish.  The solo.....it's very odd.  Love the guitar riff starting at 2:49.

1st listen and I really like it. Took awhile for DoTC to set in for me but this one is a thumbs up right from the jump.

Its not bad, but like some others have said, sounds half finished. Was expecting a killer chorus instead we get.... No chorus? Weird. Also not a fan of the solo at all. Mike is much better when he is showing some emotion in his solo, here he is just trying to cram as many notes in as possible.  Definitely sounds like something off backspacer.

Haha, I can't get beyond 'focus on your focusness' when listening to this song now!
It still feels like a rough demo version to me.

I like the 60's surf vibe that seems to run through it. The song seems sort of restrained, like it is just ready to break loose, but never quite does. I am looking forward to hearing it live, I think it has the potential to really be a rocker if they just go for it.

I love it.   The kind of fun, gonzo, balls to the wall rocker that a song like Supersonic could only dream of being.  This sounds a lot more vital, energised and less forced than anything on Backspacer or LB in my opinion - so I really don't get those comparisons.   The production is way better and makes the band sound completely revitalised.   Like DotC, the arrangement is also refreshingly off-kilter enough to keep things interesting.  There are a couple of times where it doesn't go quite where you expect it to, which is more than can be said for the formulaic verse-chorus-verse dadrock on BS and LB.  No problem with the solo either.  Do people really want the same blues scales run-through on every song, 30 years on?

Word that comes to mind is disjointed. 

There are parts that really rock, but then there are pattern changes that feel clunky. Agree that it’s probably a little too wordy.  

It’s not bad at all. Just clunky to me. Has some really cool parts and I really like the feel when Ed is singing the first two verses.  

It reminds me of how I felt listening to MYM the first few times. That song never really grew on me but I slowly started to like it a bit more as it matured. Hope I feel the same about this one.

Kinda has a Backspacer vibe, like a Johnny Guitar or Supersonic. I think it'll be a fun song live.

Reminds me of the very start of Force of Nature and some of Johnny Guitar, especially the “I hide my disappointment because for years I’d been hoping” section.  
Overall I wouldn’t call it catchy as there’s so many different parts to this song, but I do like it.  It feels like a real grower.  Can’t wait to see how Mike plays it live. I hope they stretch out the song length live for him.

Great song, but still not classic Pearl Jam.  This album is really turning into a change of direction No Code style.  2 for 2 so far
