Honest question - is this song about a surfboard?
If Eddie wrote the lyrics then I say there's a 50/50 chance.

Maybe he had a board he loved, and lost it while surfing under the Superblood Wolfmoon last January...
"I'm a lucky man, to count on both hands the [shows I've done]. Some folks just have one, others they got none..."

He goes to hell, of course. We're going to heaven."

I've been playing the heck out of this song and LOVE it more each time!

The la-la-la section is plain weird. Where it is located. Haha.
Juxtapose the 'la-la-la' with the 'feeling angry knock it off the shelf' which precedes it. It's fun that way too... in a la la la, nothing to see here kind of way.

No rumblings of a 3rd single prior to release right?

Liked the song at first listen. Gave it 5 or 6 listens over the first few days, and haven't listened to it since until just now. I like it even more than I remembered! Excited for this one.

The song isn’t bad. Not pushing the creative limits as much as Dance. But clearly wayyyyy better than the last four or so “rockers” I remember being released. (Can’t Deny Me, ew, Mind Your Manners, ew, The Fixer, ew, and Ole, ew).

I typically feel like the mid-tempo tracks are the best ones post-Yield.

    This hard/fast one isn’t bad.

That video is kinda corny though. Like the video for dance is clearly pretty cool. Lots of time, thought and energy. This one? Not my cup of tea. Cute for a moment maybe but...
Never got people not liking Mind Your Manners. Heavy and fast PJ is the basis of PJ and by far my favorite. Once, Why Go and Deep on Ten, both Vs and Vitalogy is chalked full of it, stuff on No Code like Habit, Brain of J on Yield, Breakerfall on Binaural, Ghost & Save You on Riot Act, Comatose on Self Titled, Got Some & Supersonic on Backspacer and finally I think MYM kicks ass, especially compared to the rest of what was put out on Lightning Bolt outside of maybe Getaway.

If you aren't into heavy PJ, what do you do during 30% of the show when they are playing heavy shit?

Reading some of the “la da da” criticism on this track got me thinking about State of Love and Trust. Anyone who doesn’t like this on SBWM care to share if the “hey na na na na, hey that’s something” or “hey ooh hey ooh hey ooh” parts of SOLAT fall short for you as well? I really enjoy both and think they are well placed in each song, but have always been a music first, lyrics second type of person. Just curious how many people are opposite on this.
Its a part of song writing and those who use it well, like EV, only enhance their greatness. Ben Gibbard from Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service does it a lot and it always sounds good. It's not lazy, it's a skill.

As someone else pointed out before....The "La da da's" are the girl singing in the distance.

Its added context.  The singer is going through hell that the girl broke up with him, and she's off singing in the distance.

    I like it.
    Near to death.
    Here to die.
    Scared alive.
