This is a band going 30 years and still making fresh and relevant music. A testament to them. I'm really loving this new song. Interesting times ahead. Enjoy them while they are here. And making music
Yeah this is the best part, still putting out new music after 30 years!
And I’m hoping that I hurt ya... hoping that I hurt ya... hoping that I hurt ya fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiist!
Could well be "hurt" rather than "heard"! Not sure about "fist" though.
Though "heard" would echo back to the first line.

I think the main thing that I'm hearing from the two new songs is that the band sound re-energized, and I'm not just talking about the tempo of both. They are pushing sound in different directions for them. This album sounds like they said, "Fuck it. Let's just do whatever we want and surprise people."

Mccready’s solo is different than anything he has done. Just a different style. Fingertapping.
Initial thought was very EVH

Took about 30 seconds for me to start digging the song and the by the end I was completely hooked. Mike's solo is just insane. Like DOTC, there's just something about these new songs that gets into your system and you just can't get enough. Every night I go to bed hoping that when I wake up it will be March 30. Just 40 more days to go...
Getting a 'Whipping vibe on the way Ed emphasizes some of his words in the verse.
Sounds more like WWS to me if we're thinking of the same parts.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river

I like it. It’s a PJ rock song but not the same classic PJ sound...which is refreshing. As others have said they sound re-energized and excited. Also, I love the production of these first two so far. Great sound and mix. These first two have me fucking pumped to hear Gigaton!!!!
oh yeah...that mike solo is on fire! Love it!

Love it! Great song except I just dont like that la la la part. Sounds cheesy and like Ed just couldn't come up with lyrics for that part so he just threw that in. Kind of makes me cringe.
I like the la la la. It gave me a trippy Beach Boys vibe like “Heroes and Villians” or something. Plus I feel it will really shine listening to it in Dolby Atmos. I think a lot of parts from this song were recorded with that in mind.
So far my favorite song since Backspacer. I’ll have to give it some time to see if it stays that way or tired out. But immediately liked it. Wasn’t really a fan of DOTC.
