This is a western fence lizard I saw yesterday while visiting Empire Mine State Park in Grass Valley, CA. I sat down to rest for a few minutes and this guy climbed up the brick garden fence next to me. I talk to it for a while until his or her eyes started to slowly close. When I got up to leave, the lizard followed me with it's eyes. So I sat back down and talked to it some more until it got droopy eyed again. I must go back and visit again sometime!

big girl has been laying eggs in our yard for a good 10 years now. Always happy when i see her so i can walk her back to the pond. Avoiding getting squashed.
Was at a local school near me playing volleyball and we found one in the parking lot. Relocated her back to her pond with a giant garbage can. She was not happy! That beak will take some fingers!
I’m sure she appreciates the escort! Good for you! ❤️
Yep. First time I saw her in our yard took her a few blocks away to a big pond. The next morning, right back on our lawn. Amazing skills to find the way back. Realized I should let her do her thing and just follow it back. Have to keep your eyes on the road. Lot's of critters on the move.
Wow. Wild area. We have coyotes here. Seldom seen. A rare occurrence, once a guy walking dogs here, had a sick coyote stalking his dogs on leash. Had to fight it off. Good to be aware of what's around you. Looks like you are.

I had to pick up dead cat in my front yard yesterday morning that a coyote got ahold of. He could have had the courtesy to at least eat it instead of just chewing it in half. Coyotes are everywhere here in suburban Los Angeles . We have them on my cul de sac every night and my neighbors are too stupid to bring their cats in at night.

Exactly why our Annie is an indoor cat. I have only seen one coyote here in 20 years- it walk right past my sliding glass door- but we have seen fox a number of times and one neighbor reported seeing a mountain lion (though I've never seen one anywhere here or elsewhere). A friend of mine who lives on the other side of town let her cat go in and out and it was killed my a fox. Better to keep the kitty indoor and safe (and save birds and lizards as well!)

An osprey or something left a dead kokanee fish on my boat with the head off. Blood bath! Maybe it was mocking us for not catching fish and brought us one. Hopefully it's not the mafia gas guy sending a message!
^^ I thought it was deer coming out til I zoomed pic. goodness I was just in that area with my dog off leash. With all the bear sightings in that Park I best to be more careful

I gotta be on dog duty, cuz we ran into a couple of coyotes today at the creek.
