Egret on Hangtown Creek. 1st one I've seen in my 28 years here in the Placerville area!

    Nice.
Heard these birds chattering the other day. Maybe sibling hawks messing around.

Busying themselves for the coming of winter perhaps.  Or maybe just enjoying a little sunshine!

While I was water skiing last week, I came across a deer swimming in the lake - between me and the boat!
deer and moose swimming ability has always fascinated me. Like, their legs are as skinny as they get, and I can't imagine the hooves help much.

believe this is a sibling of Butch the Backyard Cat.
If he/she comes back around , I put together another shelter using a carrier. plastic over the vent holes, lined with carpet pad and using a heated pad inside with a blanket....

This one may end up as Sundance....

    Interesting bird. Nice setting.
Since seeing the pj shirt from there I now know the opera house matches a shark's fin. Not sure if that design is intentional.

was at the jesuit retreat center in parma, oh this weekend. our canada retreat moved here after dwindling attendance up there. 55 acres 90 % wooded.

herd on the property but move freely in to the adjacent neighborhoods.

maybe 35-40 ft area for this....

It’s an Ibis. When we visited Aus a few years ago I was amazed by them as they are big old birds for a city centre. My brother lives in Brisbane and was fairly dismissive of them. He said that they were basically Aussie pigeons🤷
