    A YEAR IN you still have to Fight the NORMALIZATION of the bad ideas and completely fucked up "policies" that were already implemented by Steve Bannon AND Steve Miller.  Last night's Vice News Tonight (01122017) had a pretty amazing segment on it, as soon as it's available I will post it.

    They really took a wrecking ball to the the ideals and accepted norms that this country stands for, and we're to distracted and caught up in the day to day bullshit to even try to counteract it.

    Not really... Durbin and the source reported that Graham took a stand in the meeting and berated Trump.  According to CNBC..

Trump uses words as distractions because he’s not constitutionally bound to being polite, and because it creates conversations about his “fitness” for President rather than the egregious actions he and people around him are trying to pull off. That said, we’re all just on a message board anyways - not like I can do anything proactive when he continues wiretapping either.
    If you think Trump is trying to keep us distracted you haven't been paying attention.

    dignin, my bad. To clarify, I don't think he's intentionally creating distractions, but that's certainly the effect. It really seems that the amount of time spent discussing Trump's words is greatly disproportionate to the amount of time spent discussing his actions.

    I have no idea if they are or are not.  But I do know they are full of humans, God's creatures.  And there is zero upside to the comment and only downside as a human, President, and an alleged Christian.  I like Presidents who think about the words they say before they say them and are conscientious of their impact.  I like Presidents who have a spec of humanity for all humans.  As a financial services executive, I have to think about everything I write and everything I say due to the ramifications.  It's not that high of a standard to hold someone to and one I hold myself to every single day.

    And by the way... how about having a President that doesn't lie constantly.  Why in the hell would Durbin and Graham collude to lie about this to the press?  They wouldn't.  Maybe you don't personally care if anyone not in your sphere lives or dies, but perhaps you care whether the President is a serial liar.

    like I said before I was liberal and voted dem for a long time but it was always smoke in mirrors with them, a lot of empty promises with nothing to show for it.  I was really turned off by how the party and it’s followers (my brother is a huge dem, rabid on fb) were constantly name calling and harassing people who thought differently than they did.  Calling folks racist who were clearly not, throwing out super ugly claims at folks who just believed something differently than them.  I fully believe that if you don’t agree with someone you learn to appreciate their views, rather than forcing yours on them.  I’m not religious because I think it’s stupid and the forcing ones religion on another is as dumb as it comes, so
    why are dems who are anti religion trying to do exactly that and force their opinions on someone else just like those they hate? Just sent me packing basically, I was ashamed pretty much by how all my dem friends were acting online.
    I find your response interesting. However, I’m having trouble reconciling the difference between your preferences and the reality. I’ll try to go point by point:

    You like the Wall. Fair enough. But do you realize that border security experts say it’s untenable and the resources Team Trump Treason wants to draw from to pay for it will harm other aspects of border security that are more effective? Do you envision “a big, beautiful wall” like TTT campaigned on? Because that’s not going to get built. Are you okay with the costs associated with it? Do you realize that Canada is likely to go visa free with Mexico and migrants would be able to fly to Canada and cross our northern border. Should we build a wall along 4,000+ miles of our northern border as well? Do you not think that immigrants assimilate into our culture upon becoming citizens? I’m not sure what you’re trying to say about that but my experience is they enrich our culture by continuing to blend aspects of both through food, music, art and it keeps things from being cookie cutter. Do they struggle? Sure. Should we turn our backs and kick them out if they’ve been here and have been law abiding and productive members of society? No.

    You like your taxes cut. Who doesn’t? We’ll see how that plays out when the recession hits and the debt balloons.

    You realize that the repubes in Congress didn’t do one thing for 8 years to help Obama. Not one thing. Their senate majority leader stated minutes after he was sworn in that his party’s number one priority was to see this president fail. How can you blame dems for that? Obama offered to take aspects of repubes’ policy and make it part of the legislation and they still blocked him at every turn. They were against the auto and bank bailouts to turn the economy around from the worst recession since the depression and had Obama allowed everything to collapse, the world economy would have as well. So why credit repubes?

    You bemoan the name calling but have you listened to the right wing hate machine? It’s been a constant blare since the 90s and I’d argue the 70s, Anita Bryant, with Rush and 700 Club and Fox, etc. These pasty white folk don’t like other people different from them. Gays, immigrants, people of color. Rush was using feminazi long before your friends were posting on FB. Doesn’t make it right but there’s never been a dem equivalent. Do you hear what TTT has said and who he’s mocked?

    You seem to be more upset by people being called racist when they’re not than by TTT actual racist comments and actions. How can you continue to support someone so openly and obviously racist? As for religion, TTT has none of it. He consults with an evangelical spiritual advisor and the evangelicals are the most whacked out there. How can you disregard the separation of church and state? I don’t care if anyone prays to whichever god they choose. Just don’t make kids do it in school or put jesus in the courtroom or open meetings with prayers. That shit is all for church.

    The Washington shake up? Have you seen who he’s appointed to his cabinet? And the complacency? With the legislative or executive branch? One is appointed or civil service and the other is fully elected. Which one is he shaking up? Because I’m one, TTT has been derelict and the other is why we have elections.

    Other than your tax cut, I still can’t fathom why, after a year of six lies a day on average, the swampy like things this racist, bigoted, incompetent president has said and done, why anyone still supports him. But that’s why we have elections. And Team Mueller ⚖️

    I have no idea if they are or are not.  But I do know they are full of humans, God's creatures.  And there is zero upside to the comment and only downside as a human, President, and an alleged Christian.  I like Presidents who think about the words they say before they say them and are conscientious of their impact.  I like Presidents who have a spec of humanity for all humans.  As a financial services executive, I have to think about everything I write and everything I say due to the ramifications.  It's not that high of a standard to hold someone to and one I hold myself to every single day.
