    No, we can't.

The office has permanently been diminished, if our next 10 Presidents are brilliant world changers who bring lasting world peace and harmony...we will still have to remember that to the highest  office in the world, we elected a true caricature of a person larger than life in every possible negative way.

I'm more worried about Congress in the long run than the president.  Congress can always impeach a President if he is an idiot. Right now we have a Congress that puts party over country every time.

The only quality of Trump's I would like the next president to have is to speak more bluntly (but with more grace than our current idiot).   Also, perhaps be more decisive too on world matters since we send so much money to other countries.

With North Korea, I think the President should just tweet:  "North Korea....If you attack any of our allies with whether nuclear or not, we will obliterate you.  If you try to nuke the US, we will shoot down your missile and, again, obliterate you.  If you transfer a nuke to another country.  Again, total obliteration."

We can then remove our troops from South Korea.   WE don't have to have talks with China and Russia.  We can just leave North Korea be.  That's how it should be.  If they would have threatened a missile attack instead of sanctions, we may have had a chance before they got their nukes.

I’m glad you’re not involved in setting US foreign policy.

Is this position re: Korean Peninsula a real argument or tongue in cheek? Pretty sure Kim Jung understands the M.A.D situation.  Your suggested tweets don't advance a policy one iota.

It is a policy.  We don't need troops in South Korea.  Let's just tell NK that if you attack South Korea, it will be the last time you attack South Korea.  US put notice on North Korea.  I'm saying let's move on completely from North Korea.  It isn't an agenda item anymore other than to be prepared to shoot down a missile.

Because North Korea policy has been great so far?  Basically, I'm just saying let's stay out of their business until they make it our business.  It is the same position you would have wanted to take with Iraq in 2002.  I just say it in a blunt way to make sure there are no misunderstandings.

ok let's play that out.  we remove ground forces.  If they attack without a nuke,  then we'll nuke them.  But before our missiles hit pyong, they will be able to launch a strike against Japan and s. Korea, hitting 170 mm people.

all your strategy did was ensure our troops  weren't hit

Can we stop those missiles now?  I'm not sure.

Not sure we would have to nuke NK at that point.  Just take out their leadership and nuclear facilities.

Any strike against NK will precipitate an esc alation. It's not like Kim Jong Un and his cronies will be sitting in a palace when this happens.  They have very secure bunkers.   Regarding your comment about the world police, I'm not really sure what that means.  We made a commitment to the South when the DMZ was established over 60 years ago.  No offense, but your strategy doesn't make any sense.  If the North decided to invade the South, we would have no means of fighting back conventionally without launching a major strike....leading to the counter strike of much higher proportions.

There's not good answer in NK without the help of the Chinese, but recalling troops is the last thing to do...followed closely by announcing our strategy via Twitter.

World police = keeping troops around the world ready to strike when non-US territories are attacked.  Sounds like you liberals are for it after all based on comments about being nearby to protect SK, Japan, etc....

So why make the case to attack NK if they invade the South? Why should we (you) care?  Why not just withdraw and let SK and Japan fend for themselves? Your arguments are inconsistent.

No, usually the liberals are the ones who don't want to be world police, so I'm just surprised by the sudden military support.  I'm just saying our tactics for it should be simpler.  We built an arsenal that should be the biggest deterrent out there to prevent NK from attacking.  We'll just have to back up our tough talk if they do something.

North Korea won't attack anybody.  It is simply how Kim Jong-un stays in power and how dictators around the globe stay in power.

Even he knows the moment attacks he is dead.

This sabre rattling is amuses me.  What doesn't amuse me is the Orange in power who may do something stupid.
